Harry Potter is NEVER COMING TO DISNEY
But, oh, you definately need to go searching for the millions (slight exaggeration) of threads we've dealt with on that subject. They're entertaining...if they're not choking out every other thread on the boards.

People who post a long detailed vacation plan for their vacation comming up months down the road, and ask for comments on them. :(

There is nothing wrong with planning, but please, this is a vacation. Why do you need to be so and detailed?
Because it's fun to plan, and you can make sure you hit the attractions you want to hit with the most efficiency.

I don't even know what I want to eat the next day, let alone scheduling priority seatings for every day of an upcomming vacation.

Planning that far in advance what park you are going to go to on which day and what you are going to eat is only going to stress you out when something goes wrong. If it decides to downpour the whole day, are you still going to go to the AK, or are you going to consider another park?
No worries. That's why you carry ponchos in your backpack.

While I know the questions were intended to be rhetorical, I answered them anyway. :D

It's a shame that we planners cause you so much grief.

From now on, we won't clutter this board with our pesky inconsequential questions. We'll just wander aimlessly during our short stays in Orlando and hope there's no lines for the attractions and restaurants we'd like to experience. That way, everyone's happy! :sohappy:

Did you report the PM to a moderator? You can do that and he will be banned. That will teach him.
Nah. He hasn't really done anything else like that on the forums (as far as I can tell), so I don't really see a point over banning him.

Speaking of members stirring things up, I have been offended by every post you have made since returning from Florida. How is it you haven't been banned from these boards?

I don't have a problem with the idea of planning and I didn't mean to offend anyone. Yes it is good to plan ahead, but you can only take that so far. Things that should be planned ahead include hotel reservations, rental car/limo reservations, airline reservations, which type of ticket to purchase, hard ticketed events, and maybe which parks to attend on what days, etc.

In my opinion, what seems overkill and obsessive is to plan out that we will go on ride a, ride b, and ride c, then we will take a break and eat, then we will see show x and show y. Then we will leave the park and go back to the hotel pool. I think there is such a thing as overplanning. It only takes one thing to set off your entire plan. What if you are not hungry? or what if the ride line is too long? What I am saying is that people shouldn't be so rigid that far in advance without knowing what the parks are going to be like in terms of crowds and what the weather will be like.

I don't see panicky people here so much as I see on other boards, but it is ridiculous to be all stressed out ahead of time over a little deatil such as the ride I was going to ride first in the day will be closed for renovations.

That's you and me :D

But from reading these boards I get the impression that some people love to plan their trip and measure out the day's activities with a micrometer. Different strokes for different folks.

As a friend of gobuckey@wdw I can say he's a nice guy, do I think what he did is right, no, but still I think we are getting a little snobby here. If you don't want any new repeate threads why not lock the registration process and let only the current members post?
