More Questions: Picking up Resort Maps

When we go in July, I was hoping to pick up resort maps from each resort when in the theme park of its area. Do the staff mind if you do this? How long, if anyone has done this before, do you think this will take?

You mean you want to go to every resort and get maps from each of them? It may take some time... But I think the staff won't mind at all.

I think it will depend on whether you are using Disney Transportation or driving yourself. If you are using Disney transport then it will take quite a bit of time; waiting for busses, boats, or monorails to get you to resort areas and then getting to each resort and waiting in line at the front desk. If you are visiting the parks, you could always just take a break from the crowds and visit the resorts in that area ( eg.:Poly, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge from the Magic Kingdom). If you try it good luck and have fun!

Yeah, I agree. I think you should drive yourself, if possible. This way you'll save time. Good luck!

Hi Everyone,

Are you staying on-site at a resort? If so, only 5 min. :-) Most, if not all the resorts have all park maps in the lobby. When I check into my resort (POR for example) in the lobby right when you walk in is brochure display with every park map including downtown disney, water parks, Disney sports complex you name it. You just grab as many as you want.

I typically grab 5 for each park to have as a keep sake from the trip. These maps change from year to year so it's nice to have them in a photo-album :-)

You shouldn't have to visit all parks...

Well we're actually staying off-site. My dad will be driving as I am 17 and have not done my test yet. We have already bought our tickets and they have already arrived. They are park hopper tickets for 21 days, which we should make full use of. And so, all I need to do is travel around the resorts and grab the resort maps quickly.

This sounds like fun. It may take a long time, but there are a few things you can do to make it go quicker:
1. When at the MK, take the monorail to the GF, Polynesian, and Contemporary.
2. When at Epcot, exit at the International Gateway, and walk to the BC, YC, Swan, Dolphin, and Boardwalk.
3. Plan dinner or lunch at some of the other resorts and pick one up while there.
4. For the remaining resorts, devise a route to visit them in your car that won't have you backtracking.

Each resort only has the maps for the theme parks, water parks, and Downtown Disney. If you want a map for a specific resort (Polynesian, Beach Club, etc), then you will need to go to that resort and ask at the front desk.

It also depends on how long you are going to be on your trip. Sometimes its nice to use the different transport systems and walk from resort to resort if you can. But, it is definately quicker if you use a car to get from place to place. Just tell the guard at the gate that you are there to look around and they will give you a temp parking pass.

While at Magic Kingdom you could also take a boat over to Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. :)
