Photos removed by request of thread originator.

Thanks Grizz! Dave's photo's of The Land let the observer make up his or her own mind as to the quality of this renovation. Dave is not using these photos in an agenda to sway our thoughts.

Grizz, your photos and comments have been designed specifically to capture your core audience and find whatever fault you can with this new renovation. Based upon what most of us have seen, you're growling up the wrong tree Grizz.

That's silly, Woody. I just listed the photo list above. So you're saying the exterior photo shots I posted (which were sent in to me from a parkgoer) were designed to find fault?

P.S. You're welcome.

Grizz, your editorial opinions about The Land have been negative from the start of the renovation. Even Steve attempted to give you a hint to back off. Your hysterics about the removal of the balloons and "We have to save The Land" caused even Jim Hill to take you to task. In short Grizz, you are becoming the little bear that cried wolf. You are going down the same old trail pioneered by Disney Blues.

A lot of us think it would be better if you saved your material for the D-Troops.

D-Troops has gone down hill.. It's becoming freakin Mice-Age.. Just one person's opinions.. There isn't NO WAY 7 or 8 people can represent the general public's opinion...

The article represented one person's opinion - Captain Buzzy - and we have been taking emails from the public. They will be featured in a third article of a series, the second of which will tour the new Soarin' attraction.

I'll just be quiet until the next problem arises. Everybody is entitled of their opinion.

I still think that the interior renovation stinks! I mean are we at the Land pavillion inside EPCOT or the Contemporary Resort? The fall seating section looks like someone upchucked the 70's! :hurl:

Everyone is entitled to express their opinion about this renovation or anything else WDW related (no matter what the thread). After all, that's what these boards are for are they not? Or do we need to have a debate about that too?

Just keep it civil and attack the arguments not the people! :animwink:

Don't forget that's pretty much what a lot of Epcot looks like  (I love the place but some parts do have a retro early-80s feel to it...:animwink: )

I think the new Land isn't too bad. Sure there are many problems, and I still don't know what they were smoking when they thought people would actually enjoy entering a realistic airport terminal-like space for the Soarin' queue, but overall I think they did a nice job in trying to give the place a someone modern feel while trying to keep the seasons theme.

Hey, it could have been worse...:drevil:

And they say they're not trying to advertise...

Dave--

Great shots. I think they really allow the viewer to take in the whole presence of the pavilion as the Imagineers intended. Thanks for shooting and posting them.

Now, I'm curious as to your set-up, if you don't mind. What was the camera and lens? Flash used? Tripod? Thanks!

Woody--

I couldn't agree more re: Disney Blues.

In my opinion, it must have been something that made them smart ;) j/k I respect where you're coming from, but imo Soarin's queue is fantastic and I don't think I'm alone in enjoying the look and feel of the queue. In fact, I think the majority here would back me on it, but I don't mean to speak for them. Even though it technically was inspired by an airport,it really works on a number of different levels. The Great Hall and the "cloud-room" (as I like to call it with its blue neon lights) are just cool looking. Its actually a very well done queue line that suprisingly has features that fit the theme of The Land and the concept of "flight" experienced on Soarin'.

I use a Nikon D2H. That particular shot was with a 16mm/2.8 lens shot handheld. Bumped the iso to 1000, hense all the friggin noise. No tripod, No Flash.
