More on Disney's Future

What's next? Shop at your local Disney Supermarket?

Hey, a lot more people would buy Disney cereal if they didn't have to go to WDW to get it. Just Playing.

^^^These are good by the way.
But seriously, here's what I think.

New Cruise Ships -Great idea, my understanding is that they could use some ships on the west coast. But I might be wrong.:veryconfu

Hong Kong Disneyland -There was no real market for it there. There were already established theme parks there and no one (obviously some people but...for arguments sake) really cared. BTW, WATER FOUNTAINS AREN'T ATTRACTIONS!!! Ugh.

Disney Urban Whatevers
- "Disney Take-Out" Its like ordering Applebees take out. "yah its applebees but this tastes like crap." Disney Quest was cool for what it was but it was just too "gimmicky". Hear me out. When Walt (yes we're on a first name basis) built Disneyland the reason it was so successful was because it was something DIFFERENT. The only thing different about disneyquest was that Genie welcomed you. No i must admit though that the pirates attraction and cyberspace mountain at DQ (Not Dairy Queen) were pretty good.

HOTELS- No. I personally think they built too many on property without thinking about off property. One in New York near there huge store might be kinda cool though.

I forgot anything else that was mentioned.

If any of this made you mad, I'm sincerely sorry, but by society standards me being a teenager means I'm Angry:fork:!!!!

wouldn't it be nice if they had something like they have out a nicely theme indoor waterpark with some cool waterslide theme to there characters. they could have a nice downtown diseny with a hotel/indoor waterpark. or something like a indoor theme area like the mall of america. they have models that they can follow. a mall of america/great wolf lodge model for there other parks around the country.

I cannot agree more.

The MBAs need to get out of the way and Disney be what made them want to study it in the first place: a place of trust and true innovation. (Not simply "brand extensions"!)

Paul

Ironically, I'm hoping Disney will pay for my MBA.

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but in my opinion I see nothing wrong with Disney building a FEW resort hotels in New York, Chicago and another city (even Vegas). I wouldn't mind two or three Disney resort hotels in Major Markets. It seems everyone thinks there will be Disney hotels in most markets.... while I agree this would dilute the brand, I can't see it ever coming to fruition.

WOW Disneyland has only like 3 monorails, how many does wdw have?

Disneyland actually has four monorails, but the maximum operational capacity on the beamway is three monorails.

Currently they are building a new fleet of Mark VII monorails for Disneyland, and with the Submarine Voyage construction going on just below the monorail beam they are only able to operate two monorails at a time. Disneyland has two monorail stations; Tomorrowland and Downtown Disney. The Disneyland Monorail opened in 1959, inaugurated by Vice President Nixon and his family, with just one station and a short figure eight track above Tomorrowland. It was expanded in 1961 to go over to the Disneyland Hotel.

Disneyland still uses the exact same layout from the 1959 original figure eight, plus the 1961 expansion over to the Disneyland Hotel. In 2001 when Downtown Disney opened, they renamed the Hotel station the "Downtown Disney Station", although it sits in the exact same place. It's just that Downtown Disney grew up around it.

The first of the new Mark VII Disneyland Monorail fleet begins operation later this year, with the full new fleet online by '08. Here's a link to a picture of Disneyland's new Mark VII Monorails. http://www.mouseinfo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84271

Now, how many does WDW have? 18? 24?
