hmmmmm....

The company also was exploring alternatives to full-size theme parks, including “a smaller, deeply immersive park” that would offer consumers a more interactive experience at higher prices.

I really wish they would just start putting all this money they have back into maintaining and refurbishing WDW (and to a lesser extent, DL)....

Sounds like a Discovery Cove type of business model. Didn't, shudder, Jim Hill mention something about a "Myst" type themed experience? Maybe it's something in that style but with updated themes.

"Rasulo had little to add about the lackluster performance by Hong Kong Disneyland, which opened in September of 2007, and failed to meet first-year attendance target of 5.6 million."

How do they know the first-year attendace target was not hit if it hasn't opened yet? :brick:

I think they mean 2005...

The MYST island concept was being kicked around about the same time that Discovery cove was opening. The original concept involved the conversion of Discover island into MYST island from the game of the same name.

I have been thinking for a long time that Disney should have built stand-alone resorts or hotels off Disney property in cities like New York or in states all across the country...

Jay Rasulo is smoking something mighty strong...

appeal to all the families with kids too young to go to Disney World? How big of a market is that? I bet there are countless 20-something couples with their 6-month olds wanting to take them to a 3-star hotel in downtown Wichita for $150/night of which the child will remember nothing of...can we get Jay fired? After seeing Hong Kong Disneyland, and the Walt Disney Studios Paris, I hesitate to think of what a "small park" is.

"Come ride Dumbo, meet Stitch, and explore our beautiful gardens before your stay at Disney's Michiganian Resort right inside the park at the new Disneytown Detroit Resort"?

It's about time they got the new ships rolling for the cruise line, maybe with more supply the prices will come down slightly, although that is probobly wishful thinking.

Sounds like Disney Quest. Didn't that already fail in Chicago?
