More Fantasyland dark rides

Toad wouldn't work today because a. Nobody knows who he is, and b. You go to hell at the end (IDK why Disneyland still has theirs, maybe because it appears friendly and the devil points to redemption??)
More likely it's because the space their Toad takes up is essentially the size of a shoebox, plus it's sandwiched by Peter Pan and Alice (part of the latter of which actually goes over Toad).
Heck, maybe you could fit TWO dark rides there. How much land does the Speedway sit on?
An exact measurement would be much appreciated, but I do know that the land is big enough to potentially house
  • one E-ticket, or one E and one D
  • three C-ticket busbars (all three existing facilities of this kind - Peter Pan, Pooh/former Toad, and former Snow White - could hypothetically comfortably fit in the Speedway plot, and you could even fit in a fourth if using the space to its fullest advantage)

true, and its what makes them so charming, so Walt. They would never build or design anything like that in that manner again so I hope it stays that way as such out there. Disneylanders get to keep their dark rides, so far. Here they keep taking away.

Announcing that a dark ride will be replacing Princess Fairytale Hall would be a smart move for Destination D23. MK deserves something new that's open in 2026. I vote for either Toad or Sleeping Beauty.
How about one of the newer IPs? They really could make a cool dark ride based on Brave or Moana. They could also use an idea I originally had for Disney Studios. How about a Great Movie type ride with all of the scenes from Disney animated movies.

I would really enjoy a Tangled ride. That would be wonderful! My wife and I danced to the song I See The Light with Mandy Moore and Zachery Levi at our wedding. Would be so nice if we had that in addition to the turret from the movie at DW.

Even if we do get a dark ride, it will probably be closer to Ariel or BATB than the originals. So I feel like relatively few movies have potential for a dark ride in this vein; Frozen has one at Epcot but that didn’t stop Universal from having multiple DM rides. Brave could work too, we could also use Onward perhaps.

I get why people would blame the imagineers themselves rather than the top brass, but the top brass should take the majority of the blame for the current direction of imagineering, as at least some of the current imagineers still have potential in them, but are being held back by the lack of anyone as strong as Joe Rhode but with Iger in charge as well, resulting in ever more yes-men.

Yes, it's easy to not know there's an Alice dark ride at Disneyland. It's often said that Alice is the only movie in Fantasyland with two attractions (add Mad Tea Party) but Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Casey Jr. Circus Train should count as two attractions for Dumbo.

And Disneyland Paris had a garden maze based on Alice.

I would like to visit an attraction that is the jazz club from Aristocats, but the problematic portrayals on the jazz cats make that unlikely without a lot of reworking.
People forget there was only 11 movies to choose from when disneyland was built, hence why 2 alice and 2 dumbo.

snow white
pinocchio
fantasia
dumbo
bambi
three amigos (2 films)
adventures of ichabod and mr toad
cinderella
alice
peter pan
lady and the tramp

i dont count melody time or fun and fancy free.
Which always makes it interesting to me that bambi didnt get anything or lady and the tramp especially since it opened a month before the park, you would think it would have seen something publicize the new IP

Because despite what some like to claim Disneyland was not about promoting studio content. Quick dark rides are really about setting and mood. They’re far too short for character focused stories.

It would have likely been a waste of money to try to do that kind of marketing when Disneyland opened, or even for the next few decades. The reach would have been far too small to be worth the expense. It's not like people were swarming in from all over the country (and from other countries) like they do at Disney World now.

Sleeping Beauty- It’s crazy to me that none of the parks have ever had a Sleeping Beauty dark ride. The finale alone could be a whole attraction on its own (and looks like it will be based on that Villains land concept art).

I'm still holding out for a 101 Dalmations ride similar to Mr. Toad where you go on the chase scene with Cruella. Doesn't have to be too elaborate, just cute. Maybe the facade is Anita and Roger's town house.
