If they remove the theme song, I'm done...

no going back, just done...

I agreee, if they touch "Dead men tell no tales" or "The song- Priate life for me" I dont know if i could go back.

I think it would be time for a protest/sit in.

I dont mind some movie changes and I will trust "Disney" to do the right think without messing up a classic.

I agree, though do you think they could also throw another song in there? I can almost envision some of the more riviting orchestral bits of the POTC movie being added in pretty seemlessly... I mean, the singing of "A Pirates Life for Me" in the movie itself was such a fan favorite, and "Dead Men Tell No Tales" is so iconic that I don't think they will go away, but there are other parts of the attraction where the BGM is silent, where they could put a few speakers, right?

Also, wouldn't it be better to have a ride in? Maybe a group of us singing the song if it goes away?

;)

LoL. The POTC rehab seems to be sparking quite a few emotions.

I was just over at Visions Fantastic and the Disneylanders are going insane saying its a disgrace they are changing Walts vision ect...

Personally I’ll be happy if it's done tastefully.

Wow! Whod've thought art imitaing art could start such a ruckus. I for one like POTC as is. Sometimes "cheesy" is good. Not saying progress isn't better, but I hope they don't screw it up too much, or to paraphrase Dave Chapelle, I wish I had more hands, because i'd give this ride four thumbs down!! Actually as far as the switching of the load-unload area rumor, I would be very interested to see how the imagineers pull it off, without compromising the plaza's post-show shopping spree. **Side Note - As long as Pirata de Perico is for once open when i'm down WDW at the end of the month, I will be one very happy camper!!**

Actually as far as the switching of the load-unload area rumor, I would be very interested to see how the imagineers pull it off, without compromising the plaza's post-show shopping spree.

The rumor is actually that the boats will come back around to the loading area and exit in the same location; thus, PoTC would have only one queue, and the other would be an exit. The rumor continues that an additional scene would be added between the old Speedramp exit and the new one.

As far as I know, this won't happen for two reasons. First, bringing the boats back around to the loading dock would require restructuring the show buildings to get rid of the cement archways the boats pass under. Secondly, the entire lift mechanism would have to be replaced because the boats come down hard once they reach the top again. Disney doesn't have the time to change all of this between March and July.

Finally, although the news releases are setting PoTC's reopening at July 7th, the official in-house statement we're supposed to tell Guests is July 1st.

EDIT: On 2.7, in-house statements changed to July 7th.

I don't like it, not one bit. Fix up, yes. Added effects, yes. New characters from the movie, no! Don't get me wrong. I love the movie, but leave a classic ride alone. If I want to see Mr. Depp, I could go to a wax museum.

And the bigger question is still out there... the leg.... more or less hair?

That's really the only thing i was worried about. That leg better stay there... with or without the pirate attatched to it. About the hair... no more, and no less, it's a hair-raising mouseterpiece.

I know that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I think many of you will change your minds once you actually see what's really going to happen. Johnny Depp is not taking over this attraction, .

I only worked in POTC a few times on my CP, but it seems like having both loading docks really helps to speed things up... having only one queue seems like it would slow things down tremendously, or am i mistaken on that?

The new revised storyline will include....

A crew of plundering and pillaging pirates, now lead by Barbossa, attack a Caribbean seaport town and sets it ablaze in a wild night of reverlry. We will also learn the motive behind the attack: They're in search of their old shipmate Captain Jack Sparrow, convinced he knows the location of a fabulous treasure.

In the enhanced attraction, Guest will come face-to-face with Captain Jack Sparrow and experience new special effects, including a ghostly apparition in a curtain of mist.

The attraction is scheduled to close March 1, 2006, with a tentative open date of July 7, 2006, just in time for the opening of the new second film "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" that opens in theatres nationwide.

Expect to be able to see this film presented in digital projection at the AMC Pleasure Island 24 Theatres located at Downtown Disney.

All information per officially released cast sources and is approved for release to the general public.

Hope this helps!:sohappy:

You're correct; that's partly why Disney isn't wrapping the ride back around to the front.
