The coaster can slow down, or even stop, for a show scene, and then accelerate on to the actual coaster portion.

So can the technology used for Journey and Test Track (heck, Test Track stops for long periods of time everytime I ride it :) )

(and it always seems to be in the "evasive maneuver" part...that dumb truckhorn blaring in the ears over and over...)

No kidding! When I was there over Memorial Day, we were stuck in that scene for nearly 30 minutes during a breakdown. They finally just turned the effects off and fired up the worklights. There is not much to see in there though. :(

one of the proposals called for several LIM/LSM launches into show scenes with LIM/LSM brakes. They could do some kewl stuff with the trains, like have the rows set up withthe seats not even with each other, and then have hydrolics twist the seats to the side a bit during show scenes, giving everyone a good view. One nice thing about this is the massive capacity

It sounds awesome. Much like the system people were talking about when the now dead "Fire Mountain" rumour was around.

It would have involved a coaster going from a traditional standup to a laydown ride.

I could see the coaster moving slowly upward, and you could see all these Atlantean symbols on the wall as they lit up, and then a flash of blue light, and poof! You were off through the volcano, skimming the lava below you and shooting upward through the caverns.

I made the last paragraph up. Don't get excited.
