US travel agents generally won't book flights starting in the UK and booking direct with the airlines they charge you in £. I got a good deal on flight with US Airways but it's not direct but was only $820 each and hotels are very cheap if booking online in the UK. It gets expensive if you book a package holiday which are becoming less popular in the UK.
Oh, that's not what I meant... I meant booking directly through a US airline (which can be done, as I have done it on more than one occasion) as opposed to a UK airline.

Why can't you book a round-trip ticket in the US and use the tickets in reverse?

(does that make sense? :lookaroun)

Most hotels are cleaner then my college dorms so Im fine with them lol. Everytime I pick a pong ball off the floor its covered in hair and dirt... Its amazing how people can just rinse them off and keep playing :lookaroun

The airlines just don't allow that. I am sure they have a reason but not sure what it is other than you have to state the date you are flying so it wouldn't be in reverse it would be in the correct order so they would charge you the UK originating price. :veryconfu

Interesting... I stayed there last March. Not the cleanest place to begin with, but the two-hour period with free cocktails was nice.

Even 5 star hotels can be struck by Legionella , its not just the less expensive places. Your home can be struck too.

hence another reason why i dont do hottubs.....

You can get it even if you don't use the hot tub. Many times they find out its in the cooling tower for the A/C system.

This is the second hotel, I believe, in the area to be struck this year. Happens all the time and its very treatable. The original outbreak (years ago) was the worst because they didn't know what they were dealing with. Now they know what causes it and how to treat it and the symptoms are easily recognizable. Its a reportable incident, but not one to panic about.
You close it down, disinfect and are reopened in a few days.

Many people book direct with US airlines if the rates are better than a UK airline which most of the time I find they are not. BA, Virgin & BMI all run flights from my local airport but I have to also get a connecting flight to Orlando. From my local airport I can also use American Airlines, US Airways, Delta or United (this is operated by BMI) again all with connecting flights to Orlando.

The rest of the flights going to Sanford are package holiday flights from Monarch, Thomas Cook, Thomson, First Choice, TravelCity Direct. Who all generally fly direct and can sometimes be much cheaper than scheduled airlines.

we ended up booking direct with American Airlines for our July trip, it is admittedly not direct though. We fly from Stansted which is more near us to JFK and from there to Florida and we'll still be in Orlando International by 6pm local time

Northwest Airlines are also pretty cheap but my family wouldnt reccomend them, They have good in-flight entertainment but the Flight Attendents act like total . They also only go by Heathrow now.
