Regardless of how we each view the joke, I think we can all agree that Barnum meant no harm. Time to move on?

As far as the rules appearing to be a little flexible at times, I think Steve runs things as fairly as possible. After all, religion is another forbidden topic and yet many of us have enjoyed participation in various Christmas threads without objection.

Peace to both sides of the fence.
Personally I think Barnum should be tarred and feathered!
 :p

Well I finally got a red mark for this thread - and of course the coward was too chicken to put their name to it .

The grown ups here were able to discuss their feelings either openly or via PM .

One green, one read and some unexpected but interesting discussion. Not bad for what I expected to be a quick joke.

Whoever gave you the red mark was just wrong. All you did was post the joke. You were never really part of the discussion over the rules. Personally I don't see any reason to give some one a red mark for this thread. It was a difference of opinion but nobody was mean or nasty about it. I actually recieved three green marks for it and while I appreciate the support I really don't think anything in this thread warranted green or red marks.

Take Care,

P.S. It wasn't me.

I'm late reading this (still at work on Thanksgiving Eve) so sorry for the late post. Barnum you are bloody awful. You had me going for a minute.

I would save the man regardless of who he was, damn the pulitzer.

(This thread was begging for a Python moment)

... heck, I'm always begging for a Python moment. I know the entire script and inside jokes to Holy Grail, now that's obsession...
