It was supposedly a carbon copy to the one at Disneyland (or very similar), but it has been removed from Primo's menu
When was it on the menu at Primo Piatto?

i don’t remember it being soggy at all. crispy on the outside. doughy on the inside. we enjoyed it. maybe we got a good batch. How did you like yours? It does look like the bottom was soggy too?
Sounds like they didn't let the fryer get back up to temp... so it sat in the oil WAY too long while the operator was looking for the right color. Blech indeed. Is this the right place to post a review?

Hi everyone, a quick takeaway on the Monte Cristo Sandwich from the Plaza restaurant over at the Magic Kingdom.
They are
It is probably the worst dish and restaurant on the WDW property.
Here we go:
I'll give this experience: an F- as in avoid at all cost, if you must, however, try something else.
- We tried Disneyland's version of Monte Cristo a few times, they are delightfully delicious.
- The Plaza was the only sit-down restaurant in the Magic Kingdom we had never tried.
- We were pleasantly surprised to see it on the menu, we booked and seated in 30 mins (walk-in)
- It was
- It was deep-fried but was soggy to a point where the bottom just fell off.
- The ham was very dry
- The flavor, the texture, and -to a point the look, that make Monte Cristo unique were lost in a very unfortunate and poor execution
- This place screams for a refurbishment (dirty carpet and a springy seat)
- Counting tips should be done behind the door, please.

When was it on the menu at Primo Piatto?
Sorry...it was Bar Riva. Got them flip flopped.
Is that where it was served? Last summer I wandered over there since I heard the resort served a Monte Cristo, and I went to Primo Piatto since I figured it'd be there. Seeing no monte cristo, I ended up getting a croque monsieur and wasn't disappointed.
I'm sure it is. I can only imagine since it has to be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Mine is soggy on the outside, and hard on the inside lol. But what do I know, I can only eatIt's got to be hard to cook a good Monte Cristo.
I've had a Reuben and the Meatloaf at Plaza, also had a full breakfast, and everything was great.
Sorry, I stand corrected, I meant roasted turkey.Am I wrong but the Monte Cristo I swear I had at the Plaza did not have ham but bacon. So that might be your first issue. Menu says the same too. I thought it was greasy as most of these are so I dabbed off oil, but it was still very crispy. I eat these with a fork and knife always so falling apart isn't an issue. I wouldn't say it was the best I've ever had but I did enjoy it as much as the one at Blue Bayou but both were different due to different ingredients
Well, at least the brought back the reuben.According to Disney Food Blog, the Monte Cristo is off the menu due to a turkey shortage and according to cast members will not be brought back. So much for my plans to have it again when I'm back in WDW in August.

A turkey shortage? Really? A TURKEY SHORTAGE? I remember one year the DW and I saw a wild turkey in the MK parking lot. If there is a turkey shortage, will there still be Turkey Legs? Turkey club is gone too. Crap on a cracker, I didn't want to eat fried food there and I don't eat red meat. Blech. Means also I have no safe foods and will have to talk to the chef which I hate wasting their time on. Now I'm bummed (eating there Saturday).According to Disney Food Blog, the Monte Cristo is off the menu due to a turkey shortage and according to cast members will not be brought back. ETA: the kid's turkey is there - so maybe it's a type of turkey that is gone? At least I can say "make me an adult version" without issues.
