Do the Minions really need to take over a quarter of the park? I love Despicable Me but Minion Mayhem is enough. There are other IPs. SLoP would’ve been great for the park ( and made up for the eventual loss of ET).
Let’s hope ET is here to stay. As long as what they build is decent then idrc about which IP it is. The challenge is when you have a bunch of small to medium size buildings it is difficult to do anything substantial or impressive. Look at Tomorrowland at MK. At Uni, the whole front of the park from the main gate to the beginning of NYC needs a redo.

I don't think one attraction and one quick service restaurant would be "a quarter of the park"!

If Spielberg heard it was going he'd have kittens..
He still gets some nice checks from the operation of the park so his baby isn't going anywhere.
Now that he is a bit less occupied maybe he could lean into a reimagining of the experience? My wildest dream is to have a perfectly preserved original and a techie new ET both operating. As long as it contains the feels (Steven knows how to do feels) it will be amazing

It probably would have been had it been a less intense coaster. And as overbearing as the whole minions thing can be, in all honesty, it probably wouldn't have been that bad of an idea. Rockit is in need of some sort of overhaul, even if it's just (finally) updating the playlist.
Use all the pop songs used in the Gru/Minion movies.

Making the entire entrance of the park all minions is the dumbest, most short-sighted thing they could do. The only way I see this improving is if they can some how adjust the entrance so that it's clear that Hollywood is the "main entrance". This could be done by making the road curve toward Hollywood so that it is no longer an intersection, and place some visual borders on the minions side that separate it. I doublt they will do anything like this though.

A park's entrance should make a statement. You could argue that the globe and archway are the actual entrance, but you should feel something unique after you've gone through the turnstiles and actually entered the park. Instead you step directly into a gift shop, a butchered view of the New York backdrop, and two soundstage buildings with tacky attempts to make them into something else.
