Thing is, though, with Stitch... a lot of people just like the way he looks and that's why they buy plushes etc. rather than caring about the IP itself.
Stitch looks like Toothless from “How to Train Your Dragon” cause it was the same character designer.

The character designer for both Stitch (from Lilo & Stitch) and Toothless (from How to Train Your Dragon) is Chris Sanders. He created Stitch and was heavily involved in the development of How to Train Your Dragon, including the design of Toothless, alongside Dean DeBlois.

For sure. They may even continue to sell it over by the Rockin Muppet Coaster area long after MV3D is gone.
Especially since several major parks projects with the Muppets feature bits directly lifted from MuppetVision. Great Moments had Piggy singing “by the light of the silvery moon” with the “not the sun but the moon” accompaniment from Gonzo as well as the “what foolishness would you like to see” line. Regal Eagle’s whole deal is that it’s “a salute to all cookouts, but mostly barbecue.”

Muppet Vision will live on forever…..at least in t-shirts ;)

But also they found that they couldn't do the expansion construction effectively and efficiently without being too close to where guests exit the current show. Could they build/reroute that? Sure but figure easiest and best path is just close it and get going in fullness on the work
Copying to the more relevant thread.

Rise of the Resistance is still going to be closer to the building than the coaster. Do you seriously believe they’re going to have Cypress Dr rerouted, the parking lot reconfigured and all other site work done in 4 months? There’s even utilities infrastructure that was put in place for Galaxy’s Edge that needs to be relocated before any major new work can begin near the guest areas. There’s a bunch of work that needs to happen outside the park.

I think they want to demo stage one ASAP. I believe that’s why we’re seeing the Muppets Courtyard close as early as it is.

Umm... there are counter-examples.

The Cars ride looks like an IP land, but, it's just the outdoor track of a single ride (and it's junior flat ride sitting in the middle of it). It's not like BTMRR is being converted into a Cars-franchise ride in order to create a mini-land.

In DAK, "Tropical America" isn't a single-IP land. Indy and Encanto are not in the same universe.

TRON didn't get a 'TRON Land' surrounded by TRON-themed attractions (tho, it would have been cool if Speedway was rethemed to TRON Racers).

There is no Guardians-land surrounding Cosmic Rewind.

And this Monsters Coaster is only getting a show and a few shops. It's not like there are the usual two or three rides. Is a courtyard a 'land'?
I agree with your point but Disney will 100 percent market it as a monsters inc. land
