This seems to be a good use of the technology. From a coaster perspective, it's nothing all that innovative. (It's utilizing existing Vekoma tech from the flying coaster, tilt coaster and hang and bang, though in a fun, creative way.) And, we've had elevator-style lifts for years on various rides (including even in Orlando at Sea World and Tampa at Busch Gardens). But, I think it will be very good for the general Disney GP, who don't necessarily have that exposure or knowledge of what's out there. I also think the externally-facing seats on longer trains will reduce some of the anxiety elevator lifts can create. I do think this will come down mostly to set dressing. Vekoma suspended family coasters aren't very thrilling or long. And, the elevator lift will knock out what is often a decent amount of their ride length (the lift). So, visuals and an immersive environment is going to be key here. Layers of movement with both physical sets and well done background screens is key. If they FEA/Tiana this (or even Tron it), I don't think it will be that successful.

I still very much hate they are just ditching MuppetVision 3D for this. But, I like the idea overall - if they put the budget into the environment.

This definitely looks like it’ll be a real showcase piece for Vekoma’s technology and capabilities.

Interesting take. I guess it's like the runway looks on a fashion show. Impressive in some ways. But, who (besides Disney) would actually want or buy these things. They just aren't needed for most other installations and add time and complexity to the attraction. (Not saying that's a bad thing - especially for Disney. Rather, "unnecessary" for most of the industry.)

Vekoma has sold the various components to others. They’ve sold a flying coaster to Phantasialand and Cedar Point is set to open a tilt coaster this year. As for the rest of the industry, I think they’re still digging themselves out of their negative reputation.

who has an elevated coaster in Florida. What ride is it?
Cobra’s Curse at Busch Gardens Tampa.

Ah - that makes sense. Yes - well aware of their recent projects and successes. I hadn't thought about this being another way of building their new reputation from the days of the SLCs...

For me, it looks like it’s vertically lifting you 100ft in the air. This room will be awesome!!! I’m betting this experience will be more unique than you give it credit for.

At the end of the day it’s not about individual parts but the sum of the ride experience. This will be a fantastic addition!
I agree theme wise its going to be good. Coaster wise I'm not expecting much in terms of thrill at all.
