This tells me, Disney never has any long term plan for anything and whatever happens, happens and Disney is just does stuff randomly, so even for stuff they announce and create concept drawings for may never happen or may be greatly changed.
It was obvious when Tiana's was announced since it was such a sudden knee jerk reaction and they had one single piece of artwork drawn without putting any planning into it.

I dunno... to me the target demographic of the Muppets was always adults. If you look at the guests they had, the songs, the jokes, they always skewed to older audiences. Hence the decision to introduce a completely different cast when they made a show targeted to younger audiences (Sesame Street).
And then Disney decided once Muppets 2015 failed (imo I loved it) that the Muppets would be purely for kids now. There's a series they have where the adult Muppets (not the Muppet Babies) interact with small children and teach them pseudo-Seasame Street stuff.

This. It's not just "an old Muppet show", it's LITERALLY the last time Jim Henson ever performed as Kermit. It's his last project. The fact Iger sees no value in that is disgusting.
I'm pretty sure he looks at it like this(for the record, I was fully on the team of hoping this went to Animation Courtyard.)
.....

Mama melrose becomes Harry Hausen's(which will be booked far stronger for years to come off the theme alone)

New state of the art coaster

New Monsters Show

New Quick service(retheme of PizzaRizzo, which is not popular at all atm despite the memes)

Reopening of large shops and new merch opportunities

New theme for a classic coaster that preserves the Muppet IP in the parks and is more easily updateable with relevant music and will provide a boost in popularity in the short term. An idea that was incredibly popular online for years. Probably only behind a Powerline based retheme.

VS

Losing Muppet vision 3d. A phenomenal yet not highly visited theater show that has been there since the park opened.

------

I can't blame them at all. I really can't. As much as it pains me to admit that.

Yes. I am just stating fact. He must go lighter on Disney to stay on the media list.

HE WILL rationalize Disney's actions. Its good for his business.
I literally work with the guy and know him personally now, and I can tell you this is false. He will be negative if he wants to. It's okay if you don't like the guy, I'm not saying you have to, but assuming he is always positive is false.

I totally get it from a business perspective, because Iger is a businessman. He's not a creative, and that's what's hurting the parks imo, everything is calculated to maximize profits. Back in the day, Imagineers did things because they thought people would enjoy them. You think they built an entire Country Bear Jamboree land at Disneyland because it was a good business decision? Definitely not, they did it just because they wanted to and because people (in Florida) liked the bears. Nowadays you'd be hard-pressed for a parks replacement (because we don't do additions anymore lmao) that wasn't calculated to be the most profitable outcome possible.

Wrong assumption on your part, I like the guy and like his videos, I commend you on your defense if him.

I am just saying, once he was allowed back on the media list, his commentary has changed.

Monstropolis will be a net-positive, the Door-Coaster is a brand new attraction, and seems to be expanding the park berm. We also discuss this a lot on here, but replacing a poorly performing attraction with something more popular is a capacity addition, as the capacity at MV3D is mostly going unused.

Put it on Disney+ using this as a starting point.

I'd be fine with this if there weren't gags entirely dependent on being in the theater.

What they should do is film a 4K 360 degree recording of the attraction that you can either use a remote to move the camera around, or use VR. Add a walkthrough of the queue and pre-show and it's perfect.

The only sad part is that the ORIGINAL queue and land is lost to time and likely has little to no documentation. All the little gags lost to time, lol

Do people who complain about Tom even watch any of his videos? (I already know the answer to that, it's no)
I watch all of his videos and am a fan and this was a big letdown. He was **absolutely sure** and assured his audiences that his sources were ironclad and this was 100 percent going into Animation Courtyard and I believed him. He probably should have hedged a bit.

And to be clear, I don't think he's a shill, and I agreed with his Tiana's reviews, and generally agree with most of what he produces. This was just surprising because, again, he was just so sure.
