My understanding is it's a much more short-term thing. Think about what they could throw into a park with just a few months of planning, that doesn't involve major construction or WDI.

So... replacing BatB with a different Princess-themed show (*CoughMoanaCough*)? More LL money, more dining money.

Beauty and the Beast then. Change up the show with new props and cast to play the characters. Done.

So are they saying that the Muppets are “hosting” the coaster and the music is going to rotate? Is it all going to be the same? Each car will have a different song?

Like every Disney announcement you're left with more questions. One would assume it would be Electric Mayhem music on the ride but the release doesn't mention them at all (they are on the AI generated looking concept art they posted though) and the wording makes it seem like the Muppets are simply hosting other musical acts so it's not really a Muppets ride.

The only ones I can think of are DL CoP -> WDW and WDW Mickey Mouse Revue -> Tokyo. Normally I’d say no chance but where CoP was originally a DL attraction and one of great historical significance

This is why I think CoP is safe. It's an actual Walt attraction in Walt Disney World and a piece of theme park history.

Set aside the blowback that'd come from all over DPEP and WDI specifically.

The number of Disney theme park fans who work at places like Pixar is astounding. The CEO that makes this decision would be asking the animation industry to draw them as a villain for generations.

At a minimum, this is an upgrade for that corner of the park.

Implications elsewhere are what troubles me.
I mean, that Villains show definitely screams of "temporary" to me.

Lightning McQueen might be the biggest merch IP character they have and they still closed his show. Presumably because they are going to recycle the animatronic and other elements.

No
The short version from the lawyers: Yeah, good luck finding that original paperwork. Nobody knows.

Hmm, well, Country Bears gave us country versions of Disney song... so here we get rock/Muppet versions of Disney Songs? (horrible idea, yes, but I wouldn't put it past them)...

So Disney updated the seats in Muppets. So at that moment in time they did not know they were going to tear down the place.

This tells me, Disney never has any long term plan for anything and whatever happens, happens and Disney is just does stuff randomly, so even for stuff they announce and create concept drawings for may never happen or may be greatly changed.

We have NO IDEA what's going happen.
It turns out it was acutally a sign that Muppets was getting evicted as the theater is staying as it is, seats and all, but with a new show

We’ve discussed this on here at nauseam. The team (Facilities Asset Management) that is responsible for maintaining the park, they have to just keep maintaining and updating as Disney does not tell anyone their plans until they are announced to the public. They replaced the carpet in Ellen’s Energy Adventure a month before it closed. It’s just the beast of running Walt Disney World. It doesn’t actually mean anything

I've tried to draw where everything currently is in Grand Avenue compared to the concept art

Same difference. Even Disney does not know what its going to do month to month.
