Over the weekend while on our Christmas trip, we got to sit in the front cab with the driver on our way over to EPCOT. We were talking about the expansion plans and he told me that they are doing another study to see about expanding the monorail to cover the other two theme parks.

He mentioned the rise in fuel costs as well as the bus driver costs as the main reasons for re-reviewing the monorail expansion study.

Hope they can find a way to do it.

Anyone know whether the Studios and DAK were built with specified space for future monorail stations?

damn.... an honest guy just passing along some info to the disney faithful and he's going to get stoned to death... how wrong is that.....

It would be interesting how they would do that though.... do they just bus everyone to the TTC and then ship everyone on their merry way?

Anywho - - I'm all for monorail expansion -- but frankly I'm more for improving transportation in and around WDW if Monorail helps -- then so be it.

Hey now... I don't I've ever misled anybody.

People do take comments out of context all the time. I was joking with a guest the other day, and he mentioned bathrooms in the monorails. I said, "Maybe we can get those added to the Mark VIII's" -- Now, I have no clue if any Mark VIII's are in development or even being considered (we had been laughing and joking at the time), but I could tell by the guys face he thought he had just got some inside information. I was expecting a post the next day "Disney confirms Mark VIII's on the way..." :brick:

So, with any expansion or new train rumors -- if you don't see cranes or digging equipment, it's just idle chatter.

Even though this has been brought up many times before i think it was very good to bring this up...Even though some CM's around disney are not trustable maybe this one was...maybe this is true...don't just think it's not because we've had countless threads on it that haven't been true. Now lets all talk about this in a nice calm, cool and collected manner. And to the Publisher, thanks for passing on the info!

I wasn't trying to give you a hard time but others on this site will if people post something like the monorail expansion and the 5th gate rumors. When this stuff comes from the mouth of a Bus driver or CM its almost always not true.

well i asked a monorail driver too. just last week. he said that if it was going to be done. it would of be done a few years ago. but instead they brought a whole lot of new buses instead.

The only piece of information that I consider 'trustworthy' from a monorail pilot was that a lot of them don't like the new spiel. :lookaroun:
