Monorail Lime no longer :(

I dont' understand why they just suddenly decided to change the paint scheme. I thought the blue went perfectly with the lime, now i think it will just look plain or dull with the white. I'll light a candle for the dearly departed lime.

On a related note, I went to speak with one of the people in charge of it all... ... he told me that WDI decided that the Blue accent didn't look good with the Lime color. Well, ya know, the MK Monorail station doesn't really look good with all the rusting metal, and rotting wood and peeling paint. But you don't see anyone doing anything about it. Why doesn't WDI leave a good thing alone, and go out and worry about fixing what IS wrong.

Now, everyone is of course entitled to thier own opinions... however, a LOT of people like the Lime train... I personally think that the lime green with the blue accents looked quite sharp. The blue is supposed to contrast with the lime... and as such, they go well together.

i agree completely with you! For some reason, here lately, Disney hasn't been focusing on the REAL problems! and you know what, the only major refurbing of an 'old' building that i've seen in the last year or two is at Boardwalk. i know i've seen a few others here and there, but Disney should be doing more of what they're doing at BW! they need more updating/painting/refurbing of old buildings and less expansion, for the moment. i just feel like Disney is spending more time and money on being bigger, rather than better. and when i say refurb, etc, of old buildings, i don't mean take an old building/attraction and turn it into something completely new...i simply mean to bring it back up to par. make it look new again!

Alrighty folks, here is the new Lime. Personally, I think it looks too plain. I really miss the contrasting blue accent. *sigh*

Now I miss the old lime, that one looks to deep lime.. the other one was better, but look at that.. the white marks.. it looks better with the colored marks.

I agree - the old lime-and-blue looked a heck of a lot better than the new lime-and-white!

Yeah, The old monorail does look better, White and Green does look bad. But it doesn't bother me that they painted it too bad cause i usually dont get in that Monorail.

I dont even follow that, I didnt' know the Monorails were getting painted cause its not a big thing to me. Just something that transports u park to park, and around Epcot....

will they repaint the one with the crooked lines and mismatched shapes??-i can dealwith the white and lime but i CANT deal with crooked lines and a shoddy paint job-someone needs to kick someones butt for letting this half job be done

When I spoke to the area manager about Coral's paint job, he stated to me that Coral would be going back in to be "fixed" right after Black was finished. Well, that never happened. Again, I mentioned it to him the other day, and he once again stated that Coral will be fixed. However, given the track record... I doubt they will fix it. (I mean, look how many years Coral went with two different shades of coral... one car was darker than the other, doors were mismatched)

As for pictures... I tried to get some the other day, however, I was on the wrong side of the train... I did get 2 pictures of some of the smaller detailed problems. The first picture is of one of the accents... This one isn't as bad as one on the other side which is very obvious.

If you look closely at the door near the accent... you can see the stripe doesn't line up with the rest of the train. (and the door is properly closed)

If you look closely on the left hand side of car 1, when the doors are open... you can see the old stripe... and where the new stripe is... and how they clearly don't match. You can also tell from a distance how it's crooked. (Unfortunetly, I was on the right side)

Okay, as an aspiring young artist... the white on lime looks like total crap. You need contrast in art, plain and simple, and the monorails are peices of art.

The whole crap with coral... this is insane. The first thing people will see, and the last thing they will see too, are the monorails. I personally dont think a shoddy paint job will that great of a lasting impression, do you?

geez.. gimme a can of blue spray paint, a ski mask, and a flashlight, and the monorail lime madness will be over. Monorail Coral however, will be a bit trickier...
