Any idea if this is the way they are staying or is it just temporary until some new decals arrive? Is Tronorail gone yet?

Hmm. I hope they stay clear. I wonder what they have planned. If they have to put something for the new campaign, I hope the keep it simple. Small, white lettering saying, "Let the memories begin" would suffice...but only if they must.

what a sleek looking fleet. When's the last time they were clean like this? i'm going to take a guess and say late 90's, early 2000...?

I'm glad they got rid of the decals. My wife and I were there the week before Thanksgiving and had a tough time taking any good pictures from the monorails.

Yeah I like the "clean" look with the stickers now gone. Why not put the new slogans on the inside of the train on cool Disney style posters...like the subway :lookaroun

I'm curious if this includes the Tronorails, too. When we were just there every time the hubby saw one he'd squeal like a teenage girl and say, "That's so **expletive** awesome! I wanna ride it!" This would always be followed by an eye roll or snarky comment from me as I don't get the whole Tron thing (I don't remember anything about the original movie) and detest the way the Tronorails looked. Seriously. During our trip this little scene played out probably a dozen times with little to no variation.

It was a little under two years ago, but they only left them clear for a couple of weeks. They removed all of the old stickers before putting the new ones on. I'm hoping this is not just a repeat of that, but unfortunately I think they will probably be putting a LTMB overlay on them.

Yay! You know, maybe its just me, but even though these trains are 20 years old, they still look sleek and modern to me when they have no decals. At least on the outside.

There is (was?) only one TRONorail.

Was it only 1?? I have no clue why I thought it was 2. Maybe it was a blonde-highlight moment...the light streak thingy was a different color on each side (or am I imagining that which is entirely possible). LOL! Golly, now that I think about it we must've had some kinda weird timing going on because we seemed to manage to see the thing every time it passed thru Future World the few days we were in Epcot. Oh and we spotted it near the TTC a few times, too. That sucker gets around, huh?

I agree on the sleek, modern look of the nekkid monorails. The uncluttered, uninterupted lines make them look so smooth. Remember the car commercials a couple years ago (forget which car company it was) where you'd see a person riding a bicycle or a dog running full speed and they'd run smack into the back of the car because it was so sleek & awesome it just appeared to be moving fast? That's what the decal-less monorails remind me of. Even when they're sitting completely still they're so sleek and smooth they're like gleeming arrows. It'd be funny as all heck to see someone just walk right smack into one like those commercials. LOL!

By the way I got a peek a few days ago of the train formerly known as Monorail Purple, it has a very different paint job and will not match the rest of the fleet. It is solid white with a nice looking clear-coat, I guess they may still add the stripe but it seemed strange that it would have such a finished look if they hadn't decided on a color. The vent windows that are normally a distinctive gray are now painted a nice glossy black. I'm kind of wondering if this might become a permanent full wrap train. That would explain the vents since it would blend better with different designs.

You are right - one side has a blue streak/lightcycle and the other side is yellow.

Before Monorail Teal was in service, I seem to remember hearing that it was seen without a stripe as well. I'm sure it'll have a color stripe before it goes into service.

EDIT: Although, I think your theory about it becoming a permanent full wrap train is definitely possible.

It had some sort of white covering over the stripe, when they repainted it they did the stripe and everything at the same time.

Ahh, gotcha. I knew I remembered seeing pics of an all white train. Forgot about the white covering where the stripe was. That makes more sense. You may be onto something with the full wrap train theory.

I wonder how long until the 12th train will be in service.
