Trip Report Mom & Maddie's visit to Wonderland - February 2016

Hello Everyone,

We are Mom & Maddie and this is our third trip to Walt Disney World.

Dates: Monday, February 22 - Monday, February 29, 2016 (8 days, 7 nights)
Resort: Disney's Art of Animation Resort - Little Mermaid
Tickets: 6 day tickets with park hopper

Day 7 - Sunday, 2/28/16, cont.

Next up is Norway. We hung out with Anna and Elsa for a while.

We took a look at the bakery items. I didn't want anything sweet so I didn't buy anything but that school bread sure looks interesting. Maybe next time!

Day 7 - Sunday, 2/28/16, cont.

Mexico is slowly creeping up as my favorite place in World Showcase. I just love the music, smells and the ride. We spent so much time at Epcot this trip but it never got old for us. We just love it!

Day 7 - Sunday, 2/28/16, cont.

More topiary photos as we make our way back to Japan. Maddie wanted to purchase a few more items and spend some time in the Kawaii exhibit. After that we planned to slowly make our way back to the front of the park. I was ready to call it a day since I was so sick.

Kawaii Exhibit in Japan. Maddie has loved anime and Kawaii things since she was 7. She actually learned how to read by watching anime and reading the subtitles. We had so much fun exploring the exhibit and she told me everything she knows about this topic (which is a lot!).

More Kawaii! When we got home I ordered Maddie one of the sushi stuffed toys you can see in the apartment photos here. She loved it!

Sorry, we took a lot of photos of this but here are the last ones.

We really bonded during this exhibit and I enjoyed seeing her excited about something she loves.
I was getting a bit hungry and also needed to take more cold medicine so we stopped at Katsura Grill, the quick service in Japan, to share edamame and chicken teriyaki.

Day 7 - Sunday, 2/28/16, cont.

We started to make our way back to the front of the park to catch the bus back to the resort. Maddie took more photos on the way back around and we hopped in the line for Spaceship Earth one last time. I wish I had more energy to keep going but there was no way. I needed to go back to the room to rest and finish packing.

Day 7 - Sunday, 2/28/16, cont.

When we arrived back at the resort Maddie asked if she could take some pictures. I told her that I needed to go lay down in the room. She could take photos but I wanted her back in an hour. I gave her some money in case she wanted a snack and I slowly made my way to the room. Seems like a much longer walk to the room on the last day!

Day 8 - Monday, 2/29/16

Time to fly home...sad! To be honest, I was ready to go home this time. I just wanted my own bed. Being sick on vacation is the worst. I felt so bad for the guy sitting next to me on the plane. I went through almost an entire box of tissues in that 3 hour flight. I did have a trash bag with me but the whole flight I kept blowing my dripping nose and coughing. I really hope I didn't get anyone else sick. We flew into the Albany airport so I also had to drive the 3 hours home. I was exhausted by the time we arrived home and all I wanted to do was go to bed. I did take this photo of all the snacks Maddie and I bought in Japan. It took us over 6 months to eat all of these snacks! I love the green tea kit kats.

Thanks for following along and sorry it took me so long to end the trip report! We are heading back to Disney World at the end of April 2017 to celebrate Maddie's graduation from 8th grade a tad early! We can't wait!
