Mobile Magic + Verizon iPhone = Switching Carriers?

mobile magic doesn't work for smart phones. Only on phones that use the Verizon App Store.

Boo freakin hoo. Never had that problem before. It's a user case created by AT&T and Apple back when the first wave of Android devices came to Verizon to say they were more advanced.
I've been using some sort of phone with data/voice for over 3 years and never have had a problem.
As for mobile magic, iPhone is on iOS, if Mobile Magic comes out it'd be for iOS and be available for all versions of the iPhone.
I think it depends on the user. I personally use data and voice at the same time, so it is an issue for me.

I frequently use data while talking on the phone. Once you do it you wonder how you can live without it.
I imagine the 4G/LTE version will be coming out this summer (it's really the only thing I could see Apple upgrading at this point), so I'm going to wait a few more months.
With Steve Jobs being such a major shareholder in Disney now, I'm sure the Disney apps will come to the Verizon version of the iPhone very soon.

It is the network operating system Verizon uses. The infrastucture does not allow being able to do both and data calls at the same time. Has nothing to do with Apple.
The 4G LTE network being deployed by verizon has the capability, however Apple/Verizon decided to release the Iphone on Verizon before the Iphone 4G LTE chip was ready, therefore it does also have something to do with apple

My contract with AT&T is expiring in a few months, and I will absolutely switch. As it is now, I'm happy with AT&T but this 1 little thing is enough to switch back.

Apple runs one App Store. Carrier specific apps would be counter to the entire history of the iPhone.
Apple is not going to be on the front of LTE, just like they waited to release a 3G phone. Apple has not shown any indications of fragmenting the iPhone line further with some carriers getting an LTE phone, and others not. The iPhone is not an Android gimmick phone, they will wait for LTE to be really ready.
Our contract is up in May, but since Apple usually announces the new goodies in June, we will probably wait and see.

Unfortunately i think it will be too late for verizon to make the kind of money off it that ATT did, with Android phones out now, the iPhone isnt the beast it was when it first came out. apple just wants more money and that means selling their most popular product with more than one cell carrier... ive never been a huge fan of anything apple... im waiting for the "real" 4G from verizon, none of this WiMax garbage 4G like sprint has.

Just announced on tuesday, except at&t stock to start to collapse.
Until voip for gv comes out, it is rumored to be on the next android update.
it is only for their dumbphones, there are apps that you can use for some of the same content. Hopefully disney will release android and ios apps this year.

The writing has been on the wall for awhile now, the different changes at&t has made to their contract and service signaled it was coming.
Verizon is going to have an influx of appleheads that were not going to give up their iphones. the way that apple gets paid by verizon is going to be different than the deals that at&t had. apple will get a bump in income from this, but really they needed verizon more than the other way around.

Dont get too excited until you see what Verizon does for its minutes/data plan for it. Verizon is easily the most expensive mobile plans in the business with AT&T right behind them and that was before they got the iPhone. It would seem them two are sparing no cost to make it look like they are the best and at the cost of the consumer.
Apple might put its foot down with Verizon, like it appears to have done already with NOT allowing Verizon to put their stamped bloated crapware on the phone, and keep the prices down. But no doubt Verizon will do everything in its power to gouge the consumer using the iPhone. $50/month for data? Really? That was what Engadget was predicting. Regardless, Verizon handicaps their phones, for example, by disabling app access to the GPS chip unless you use AND PAY the monthly fee for the Verizon navigator app. Otherwise, you can use Google maps and triangulate by cell towers. Really? I have to pay an extra $10/month to turn GPS on for my phone? What a rip off! Charging me an extra fee to tether? Going on the Internet is going on the Internet regardless of the device, but just another thing to get more money out of you. But thats if Verizon even allows you to tether with the iPhone.
And at this point, the iPhone has lost its charm. There are a ton of Android phones that will do the same, if not better in some areas, plus you can go with other carriers and pay 25% less each month. The other nice thing is that you aren't tethered to the iTunes store teet. :ROFLOL: But Apple does such a good marketing campaign that people just turn into sheep and assume they have to get one. Same thing with people who still think that the only way to do email on a phone is to get a Black Berry. Yes, there are a lot of people that actually think that.
And there is a free Disney app for Android that gives you real time line waits for all parks and rides. I used it in December and it was dead on everytime I used it. What does the Verizon app offer besides that that would warrant switching to Verizon...and paying way more? I pay $160/month for 3 smartphones, 1500 anytime minutes, unlimited data, text, nav, tethering, tv, and everything else you can think of through Sprint. Most iPhone users I have talked to are paying close to that for just their phone! Sprint Everything plans rock and there are no nickel and dime issues like the rest of the carriers. But Verizon and AT&T flood us with commercials, so they get more customers.

Well the cost of using navigator is on dumbphones not android devices, the $10 is not to unlock the gps chip but to use a program that can use.
The added apps on ios devices would not work unless apple approved them and knowing jobs, apple would get a cut of the profits.
As for charging you to tether, you are using their network to connect more than one device to the internet.
