Not old, just vintage.
If they can get it up and running for BBs by the time I go in Dec I will buy it. I will try anything once. If it proves indispensable then I might renew it. I am curious to see if there will be a renewal discount 6 months from now.

Steve, do you know if it is functional outside of the parks? i.e. Can you access from home?

Yes and no

Outside of the parks you will not get exact wait times. You will only get light, moderate, heavy.

Right now this app is the only app that provides wait times as updated by the system in Disney. All other apps that provide times rely on user input.

If WDW/Verizon were to make exact wait times available outside the park, either via the Disney website or via this app, then it would be a simple matter for somone to grab the times off the web or via this app and then repost them on their own app.

My allegences to certain telecommunications companies not withstanding, I would get this app if I had a compatable phone.

Call me a luddite, call me a cheap ______________, but on my cell phone all you are going to do is call me. No data plan, no text plan (the horrors). Despite the fact that I work in telecomm.

I just never saw the need for me to pay for a data plan (even with my discount). I really have no NEED for it. Sure it would be cool at times, and even useful once or twice a month, but not for the cost.

However, for the coin I normaly drop on a WDW vacation, an extra $10 is a small price to pay to get the functionality that this app provides. IF I had a phone I could use it on.

Yup... count us in. I agree that many planning sites have mobile access viewable by any interenet ready phone and that could certainly suit visitors better...

The idea of being at TSM... and being able to know exactly what RRC and ToT's wait times and FP return times are without having to trek to the tip board... is pretty darn nifty... and nothing an online planning site could provide with "AP easy" fashion at least IMHO.

We're a fan of the other Ap features and the $9 doesn't detour us either. We usually average a trip per 6mo time... that's $20 a year... which is no different than me going out and purchasing the UG or PassPorter, a normal tradition for us  If anything... I just see this Ap as a better investment... providing direct results, that cater to my personal vacation aspects/needs.

No to Verizon

My friends and family in Illinois dropped Verizon because of bad coverage and dropped calls, so unless they get it on my carrier, NO.

I understand if Disney doesn't want to reveal wait times for people out of the parks but, from what I read, I think you can only access the app when actually in the park, for that particular park only that you are in. If anything, they should definitely allow you to be able to access all of their parks when the phone detects that you are in at least one of their parks. That's when it would be very useful to me. I'd love to be able to check a ride wait time at another park to decide if its worth jumping on a bus to go and ride it. And, for $10??? A very minimal amount of money in my opinion. Geez, I spend $10 a month on Verizon Navigator and rarely ever use it plus have a in car GPS. Now, if they would just hurry and release the app for BB Storm before Thanksgiving, I will definitely give it a try!!

As long as you have internet on your phone..there is no need to purchase the app. My fiance and I tried it last night w our verizon phones and it worked. I could be wrong...:)

no..tried it last night from home and it worked..m.disneyworld.com

Just to be clear. m.disneyworld.com is not the App we're talking about. m.disneyworld.com is a mobile website that was mentioned to be released along with the app. But m.disneyworld.com does not offer wait times and a detailed interactive parkmap or use GPS tech. This is what the App will offer.

as for the comment about daily cost of being in the parks...to put it in perspective from an AP holder, we spent 23 days at the parks during our AP calendar year and entered the turnstyles 35 separate times (i know it's lame but I keep a spreadsheet to figure the cost per day of our passes and whatnot.)...that would bring the yearly cost of this App to $.87 per day or $.57 per park visit. Not too bad, especially since we'll be able to check Wait Times from anywhere in the park. This will help us plan our day and where we want to go next. Even in terms of a park that we are not currently in because the App will offer us "broader" wait times and if FPs are still available or not...

We just got it yesterday and it seems to be pretty good so far. As some have said, the exact times don't pop up until you are on property. We were at the Marketplace yesterday and it picked up where we were. Looking forward to using it in the park. For the small fee of $10, we can already see that is will be well worth it. Most people ________ away that amount every week and this is for 6 months worth. If you can't afford it, you can't afford a Disney vacation. I love Disney so I am very optimistic on this application. You can even make dining reservations from your phone. Can't wait to explore it completely.:sohappy:

As a foreigner, it's not available to me anyway.

I'm not clear on how much more it provides than what is already available using m.disneyworld.com. If it's only specific wait times and FP return times/availability, then I certainly wouldn't pay $10/6mos for it. I have various apps and the m.disneyworld.com site already available, it would have to provide a lot more than times to be worthwhile and even then only likely to be of value to locals.
