Can anyone please tell me if We should attend the MNSSHP without kids?
My DH and I will be there on the 14th of Sept and are wondering if we should pay the price to attend w/o kids?

Also any advice on what to do on the first day of arrival? We arrive at 11:00AM and have adr at spirit of aloha at 5:00. Night of Joy is at MK that day so expect Mk to be really busy. Any Ideas?:veryconfu

We are going the 14th too and the only kid we will have with us is 27 years old and she is taking her fiance! We love the party, we usually dont dress up but I think our DD and her fiance might. Go and have fun!

My wife and I went last year (we had our 1yr old daughter who pretty much slept the entire time) and it was AWESOME!! I highly suggest doing it, if you love Halloween you 'll love MNSSHP. The park takes on a different identity during the party, it's pretty cool.

As for the 1st day... we used to do the MK always on Day one. But on our last trip (in May) we didn't do a park and just had a nice slow day at DTD and a nice dinner at night. I was a relaxing way to start the vacation, then we started the parks on our 1st full day. It may become our new tradition!

I have seen MNSSHP 4 or so times and none of them have been with kids. Everyone who has gone with me has been 28 and older and we all loved it. Its fun seeing people dressed up, seeing the Special Fireworks and parade. If anything it will make you feel younger.

We are taking our 12 yr old daughter with us but we would go even if she wasn't with us. My husband is not a Disney fan but even he looks forward to MNSSHP. The park looks completely different when decorated for Halloween and it's nothing like the decorations you will see during the day. I love walking down Main St and seeing the Ghosts floating above. It's also cool to see the characters dressed up, another thing you would miss unless you attend the party. We don't personally dress up although I've seen tons of adults that do. Either way you won't stand out as being the only one either participating or not participating. I say go for it. It's my favorite time of year to be at Disney and I wouldn't miss the party. I'm just hoping that there's no rain!!

GO! I have gone to MNSSHP twice, 2008 with kids & 2009 without. Both times were great. Without kids is a great exprience for adults too! We had a ball trick or treating. You won't regret it!

We went a few years ago, all adults ages 25-55 and we had a blast! We trick or treated and didn't feel funny about it at all. There were alot of adults there without kids, some in costumes, some didn't dress up, either way is perfectly acceptable as long as the costume is appropriate for kids to see. I say go and have fun!!!

We've been the last 4 years in a row and can't wait to go again this year. We are in our mid to late forties....no kids...just big kids at heart!

Never been to MNSSHP or MVMCP with kids...so I would say they are just fine for adults. Also MNSS is fine without costume although there are adults there that do a great job.

When Night of Joy is in MK, stay as far away as possible!

You don't have a lot of time (travel to be considered) to do a lot before your 5:00 ADR. Didn't say if you were staying at the Poly which would affect travel as well. For a few hours, consider going to Epcot World Showcase. You have food and wine going on, there are concerts, you can have an appetizer or two, a glass or two and get into the Disney state of mind to start your visit.

Not that you need any more prodding to go, but my wife and I will be there the 14th. We are 27 and no children (except for the stowaway in her belly) Shhh...

We went last year and I still have the Boo To You song from the parade stuck in my head. It was definitely worth the price of the tickets... no lines, great parade(s), awesome fireworks show. The Halloween ambiance was amazing.

We'll be there Sept 14th as well. And also without children. My husband and I plus MIL and husbands aunt will attending totalling 4 adults. We all went last year together and had a blast. It made us feel like kids again that we could trick or treat and enjoy the parade/fireworks. Go! You will not be disappointed.

PS We didn't dress up either. It was fun seeing the different costumes others were wearing though.

My wife and I went with no kids and had a blast, we even dressed up as prince charming and cinderella, it was well worth it, most fun I've ever had in the Magic Kingdom.

My fiance and I went this past Halloween, just the two of us, and we dressed up (as Mouseketeers!) and had a blast. No one looks at you funny, everyone is there to have a great time! Many CM's took some time out to talk with us, comment on our costumes, etc, and no one gave us funny looks when we hit up every Trick or Treat spot in the park!
Go and have a great time!

I've done MNSSHP twice as an adult, and both times in costume. I love Halloween, so it was a BLAST :) And who doesn't like free candy, right? It's definitely a lot of fun, so I'd advise you to give it a try!

I suggest going to EPCOT the first day. You can always enjoy some the less busy rides like The Living Seas with Nemo and Friends, and Spaceship Earth. Also, the World Showcase is easy going during the day. Then you can hop on the monorail over to polynesian for dinner.

Definitely go!! Dh and I went one year, and I went back with some girlfriends the next year. It's fun, the parade is neat, and the fireworks are fantastic! Not to mention seeing the other guests' costumes is worth it...some of them are amazing!! Enjoy!

Went last year with our 11 year old. She loved dressing up, the parade, the stage show, and the decorations. She is not a big candy fan. I was glad she got to attend, however, I want to go back with just my wife and I. I think an adult only party would be great! Have a great time!
