MNSSHP-What can I expect

This will be my first year going to it. I know you need the sperate ticket (Got it today). And I know you have to leave and re-enter the park, and the parade and that they transform the park and all

But what can I expect from it? Im not going for the trick-or-treat thing, so scratch that part.

What I want to know is like:
When does the park close for the transformation?
Who can I expect to see there
What events will go on.

You know those things.

I have never been before but here's what I know. I am also going October 5 and have done some research!

The transformation occurs from 6-7.

I read you can stay in the park during the transformation, but you will be shuttled to one area where the rides will not be open. I also read they usually don't take the whole hour and let you out of the area anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes early.

There will be two parades and one fireworks. Also Cindy's surprise celebration as if a normal day. There are kid parades in different lands which probably don't interest you.

All rides should be open, and pretty much empty, if not the whole time at least after the second parade when 75% to 90% of the crowds are gone.

That's some of what I know! Hope that helps!

Oh yeah, Don't knock the trick or treating, I heard you get tons of good candy! Even the adults! You did pay for it after all!

Thanks. Well. I'll be going for pictures really. I've got enough candy as it is, teaching 9th graders, its my only escape.

Only reason why Im really going is because Im in a 'Haunted Mansion mood" right now with the movie and all....The final "Ride-Based Attraction" according to Eisner(No, POTC 2 doesnt count).

I'll prolly end up going a second time, depends on if I want more pics of everything.

Cindys surprise party should KA considering it'll be a nighttime one. I saw it when sunset was getting over with, very good at night.

Hm. I'll prolly stay for the entire thing then call a sick day and blame it on the kids.

OH: I was looking through my book and remembered I have dates that are still available (NOTE: THIS MIGHT HAVE CHANGED SINCE 4 PM TODAY SO DONT TAKE MY WORD ON IT!)

Oct 3, 5, 10, 14, 16, 19, 24, 26, 30.

THE 31st IS SOLD OUT.

Since I'll be going on a Sunday (Did it this way so there wont be that many ankel bitters, school night for them). So I should be able to do a lot of things that night.

Question though, the bags for the candy, are they, "Green Disney Bag" size? Or are they "BYOHOTTHIH" (Bring Your Own Helicopter Or Truck To Haul It Home) Size bags?

Different lights and music. Main streets usual music gets replaced by something more sinister. Lots of spooky lighting everywhere. Halloween decorations around too. Its all really very cool.

Most attractions will be open. Jungle cruise and tiki room were no open last year if I remember correctly. Add to that thunder mountain and (maybe) Alien Encounter since they will be down for rehab. Lines are very short. We rode thunder mountain and space mountain over and over and over... get off and get right back on.

Parade is worth seeing. Lots of appropriate floats and characters. First time I've seen the guest boo and hiss... and the cast members just ate it up!

Lots of kids... and lots of adults will be in costume. That's one of the best parts of the event. Some of them are pretty lame but some are very well done.

It's some of the most fun I've had in the Magic Kingdom. Enjoy!!

On the candy bag question. You can bring your own or at least last year they furnished ones as well. They were around the size of a regular gift bag with a picture of Mickey looking like a pumpkin. I grabbed several to use in my scrapbooking.

Otherwise it was a blast and can't wait to go again. One mistake we made last year was going on a Friday with all the local school kids out. This year we picked Sunday in hopes that their parents will keep them home.

With Sunday being a school night, chances are it'll be quiet as a graveyard.

I wonder what kind of plugs they will have for The HM Movie this time around considering that Open House is in November.

Chances are, I'll go as Indiana. Mainly because I'm so educated on his history starting from 1885-1950s so I know exactly what to do and how to do. Might even bring along the idol from Raiders (Indy eventually found it on the black market and picked it up a few years after Belloq took it from him).

you shouldn't have to exit the park and reenter. they will allow you to enter the park at 3 or 4 or 5 (call the op and ask to be sure) and you will recieve a wrist band. the rides will stop at a certain point (6, i'm thinking) and regular guests will be swept out. those with wristbands will be bushed into the tomorrowland area while the "transformation" takes place.

you're gonna have a blast.

the parade and fireworks are killa.

Here's a tip.

We plan to enter the park around 3pm, hopping from MGM probably (YES, we DO have MNSSHP tickets as well :)). We have PS at the Crystal Palace for 5:20pm. That gives us an hour to eat and then 40 minutes to get the kids dressed into their costumes before 7pm.

Aw nuts, I was sorta hopin we could roam. Oh well, thinkin about it, they need to bring the trucks out and all os I understand. Nothing like having a Ford 150 driving around Liberty Square.

Well, least Ill be able to do Buzz Lightyear with my grandfather. See, along with me being a teacher of the Marine Corps JROTC, he's basically my boss so we teach side by side sometimes. But, with Buzz, we always have a good match since we do marksmenship (Shooting rifles for youse guys who dont know what that is). Anywho, since we both shoot in the program, its nice to see who can beat who.

I always let him win of course:animwink:

Don't miss the beginning of the parade when the headless horseman rides through. VERY cool.

They do have "dance" parties set up and even if you don't plan on attending, chances are good you'll get pulled into one if you walk too closely to it. Clopin came out and grabbed me last year. The characters are extra playful if you come in a costume.

Here is a photo of the castle from last year- it's a little light b/c my monitor was set wrong when I uploaded it.

Dear God I dread what will happen when Stitch grabs me. Little rascel, did that to me once when I was working over at the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. Walking through the park to go the cafe and he was out for a M&G. Well there wasnt anyone around to see him yet so he runs after me, grabs my fedora, puts it on, then grabs my satchel and starts rummaging through that. I had to draw the line when he started looking for the revolver.

Anyways, few months later I was at the park for the heck of it (About a week after I had moved over to M:S). I was out there with my g/f (of the time) and he went after my fedora and all again. Ill post the pic up when I get home from work (Little rats...I mean kids are taking a test right now).

Yeah, chances are I'll doning "The Suit" as many have called it. So more than likely, I'll be at MK as Indy. So just look for me (Although I dont know who else might be coming out there as him). But for the most part Ill be over on Toms Island....I fit in over there with the caves and all.

*End of rambling on*

Anyways, Just look for Indy or my Trademark if your out there.

"scary" costumes and rides

hi all,

i'll be going on the 16th, can't wait! i have a favorite mask i always wear to work and such on halloween - it's basically the white face mask that was worn in the movie Halloween. Is it ok to wear that? I man, i can't imagine it not being, kinda harmless and all without a machete or something...

also, will philharmagic be open, along with the rest od fantasyland?

Lastly, i saw mention that people with tix can enter before 7, just not into the themed areas, is this true? this info would be very helpful to me, as i'll be hauling my butt up from the keys (yeah, i know OUCH!) that morning.

Thanks!

Guest can begin entering the park for the party at 4PM. We just got word. I'll be working it this year, so I'm sure I'll see many of you. Actually, you'll see me, LOL!

Actually, you can enter whenever you want during the day and stay in there. None of this "Enter at Such and Such time" crap. All you need is your ticket to get your band which they hand out over near the Castle (Youll see the sign that says "Holloween Party wristbands here") Then go over to TL around 6ish and do the things that you do over there for an hour (Give or take)

sweet!

So with the halloween ticket guests can enter during regular hours and do some rides before the party? That's awesome! Thanks for the info.

No no. The ticket is totally seperate. It deosnt include regular day admission. If your going for JUST the party on that day then all you need it the party ticket. But if your going to be there all day and then go to the party, you need a park ticket along with your party ticket.

See, they give you a wristband, which you must have, no questions asked, no wristband, no party. You can recieve these in front of the Castle with the showing of your party ticket, after that, have fun. You can reenter the park during the party provided that you have both your ticket AND your wristband on your wrist.

That's why I said : Guests can enter the park for the party at 4PM. Guests who ARE NOT going in as day guests, who do not have regular park tickets for that day, who ONLY have party tickets may enter the park as early as 4PM. I believe that was the original question.

that's right, that's what i was wondering. i know you need aseperate ticket to get in, but the partry starts at 7pm, i was responding to a post that sai you can go in at 4pm. so party-ticketed guests can enter prior to 7pm, get the wristbands and do a few rides prior to the official start.
