MNSSHP - Types of Candy

For those who have been, what kinds of candy did you receive while trick or treating? DD7 is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts, so Halloween is a high risk time. At home, I usually buy a few bags of safe candy since I know she'll bring home a lot of things she just can't have. Just debating about whether or not I should pack some candy in my suitcase for MNSSHP. Thanks! :)

and cheap stuff for kids that you don't like?
I am so extremely lucky to not have those. Of course, I don't get to know the neighborhood kids too well, because I don't have one of my own. The ones close by are polite, well-behaved kids with good parents.

I'm very, very lucky. :)

(Speaking of kids, one of my son's friends that he grew up with, who I always liked a bunch, is becoming an Air Traffic Controller. I said, "Oh, my God! You couldn't even figure out the go-kart! I'm still getting used to you kids DRIVING! They're going to let you direct MY PLANE?!" He said, "I know. Scary, isn't it?" It is. Or maybe I'm just old, lol.)

Most of the kids in our neighborhood are good kids, but we get a lot of kids who get dropped off from other places - usually we get well over 100, but last year we didn't get so many. Maybe they got the word about the cheap candy.

We get a lot of people who drive into our neighborhood who live elsewhere. Some of these kids are fine while others try and come by multiple times. The worst are the rude kids. I've had kids not want to play by my rules of the candy bowl...some even having the nerve to complain. Heaven forbid I give you 2 pieces of chocolate and 3-5 pieces of non-chocolate candies! Some don't even get the whole porch light being off queue. The ones who happen to be our neighbors know me and/or my kids ... so it's pretty easy to sort out who is just coming to our door for the prime candy.
Now @luv ... that's scary. Do you know which airport?

We got a lot of lemon balls, tootsie rolls, some goofy suckers, and there were a handful of "good" candy - like the name brand stuff that you probably are used to. In my opinion - skip trick or treating. I know that seems weird but make it about characters, Boo to You parade, and Hallowishes. Buy her some candy that she can have. I think the candy is cheap and we threw away a lot of it. I would rather have spent the time seeing characters and riding rides rather then trick or treating. So for sure, pack some candy for her. :)

A little late chiming in here but this is what it looked like for two of us doing two nights (Halloween/Nov. 1) the past few years. Our extras go to school "harvest party" goodie bags. (Our school system won't celebrate Halloween anymore.) And after that whatever is left gets shipped to my nephew and his buddies stationed overseas.

Talking about nuts, last year we must have gotten 40 bags of peanut m&m's. Not complaining, they're my favorite. As an alternative (or an extra depending on how you look at it), they have given out fruit gummy snacks and rollups.

DD4's school is like that...they have a Hallelujah Harvest instead. Good to know about all of the peanut M&Ms and the alternatives.

Here's ours from last year. Sorry about the poor quality. As you can see our youngest had fun.:hungry::hungry::hungry:

Loads of different sweets. Did MNSSHP on our first full day and the sweets lasted us our entire holiday and we brought some back.

Boy, he looks totally worn out! Must have been a great night! Also a good pic since I can pick out a number of no-no's for us.
