MNSSHP Planning Question

Hi all!
I will be attending my first MNSSHP in October, and I'm very excited! I have a quick question for all of you more experienced park goers.

I have dinner reservations at 4:30 in MK. I am wondering if I could go back to my hotel and get changed before dinner, and eat in costume at the restaurant. Has anyone done this before? I have heard that the MK lets MNSSHP guests in the park at 4:00, even though the actual event starts at 7:00. My other option would be to change after dinner, but I'm worried about losing daylight for some photo opportunities. I considered renting a locker, but my costume requires a wig/makeup/contact lenses, etc...and that can be tricky to manage in a public bathroom!

Thank you so much!

Last year we changed in the bathroom at Tony's. Not the best, but easier than leaving MK, but our costumes were fairly simple. I did see folks in their costumes at dinner though. I think the biggest issue would be not getting dinner on your costume!

Yes you see people in costume throughout the day on party days. There is no rule about only being in a costumer from 7pm.

Have a great time!

Sounds like a cool costume! Can you tell us what it is?

It's the one in pictured in my avatar! She's inspired by The Haunted Mansion's Cast Members. There's a bit of a long story behind her; after coming back from my last trip I wanted to make a Disney costume, and chose the HM maid because of how much my family and I loved the ride. My mom told me that it would be great to take the costume to WDW one day to get photos at the real Mansion, but unfortunately she passed away before that was possible. I'll be visiting the HM, her favorite ride, in her honor in October.

That's really sweet. Our family wore coordinated costumes of hitch-hiking ghosts as well at the party in 2009. (See my profile for pics.) We arrived at the park at 4pm, put our costumes in lockers, and chenged into them around 6pm. It wasn't easy with the white and black face makeup and all, but we managed. The public bathrooms by customer service at the park entrance had lots of mirrors.

Thank you! I actually bumped our trip up from January to October so we could visit MNSSHP. After she passed away I just couldn't wait to get the pictures in her honor.
I love it when families dress up together, it's so sweet. Bravo on getting your makeup done in the park! Not an easy task!

we have spent the day at MK then headed back to our resort and then back for the party but we always left the park around 2:30 and headed back around 5. Dinner was at like 7 i think so dinner was in costume.

Cool costume and a really neat way to honor your mom!
