We need time for things to happen.
Anybody ever do end of october into the first week of novemer and hit both of these? We've never been at wdw for one of these events and wonder if its worth it. Also I've been hearing good things about October - is the end of the month into november a good time of year? For comparison - we have always gone the first week of may.

Crush Dude!

Back from WDW!Counting down to DLP in November!

Never done it (yet) but have given a lot of thought of doing this!

Not only will you get both hard ticket events but also the food and wine festival :slurp::slurp::slurp:

I'm surprised no one has spoken up one way or the other, but you're right...
I forgot about the F&W festival as that's still going on at that time as well. :D

Seems like it would be a blast to have all that and see all the Halloween and Christmas decorations in a 8 day period.

If anyone has done this or has any opinions one way or the other I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks!

We've done both. We felt MNSSHP was WAY better then MVMCP. There's just something about the parades and shows (and candy) that was more appealing to us and our kids

I don't know if I would purposely do both. MVMCP is great and all, but half the holiday experience is seeing everything else as well. If you will be there it's fun to do, but the madness at MNSSHP around Halloween might offset any perks from seeing MVMCP.

They are both fun events (I go every year), and I love them both. Just be aware that the last couple of parties (unless they do one after Halloween, then that one is usually not too bad) are pretty crowded

I agree. Halloween party was madness, especially with part of the MK closed. The Christmas party was alot better. :xmas:

Hi ShookieJones! My family and I are in the same boat for our next trip...should we or should we not hit up both parties? Right now, I'm leaning toward "not."

On our most recent trip (end of Oct., beginning of Nov. 2011), we attended MNSSHP on Nov. 1st, and didn't experience a huge, shut-down-the-park, sold-out crowds (although I heard nightmarish reports from people who went on Oct. 30th & 31st). Since it was the last party, we hit the mother load of candy: 10 lbs.! We got to MK at 5 p.m., which allowed us enough time for a quick-bite to eat and explore the party guide. My DD's got to meet more characters at this party than ever before...and met all (that they liked), in under an hour!
*Funny side note: our departure day was Nov. 2nd; while we were waiting for ME at the CT, we heard Christmas music. WDW went from "Boo To You" to Goofy singing Christmas Carols in a matter of hours!

My last MVMCP was Dec. 2008, and my family really enjoyed the atmosphere. However, I don't think it will have the same feel in the beginning of November, because not all of the decor will be out.

As for crowds that time of year, it will be very tolerable-to-moderate-to-heavy (specifically on the weekends at EP due to the F&W Festival). In fact, we steer clear of EP on the weekends, and find that F&W is tolerable mid-week. Also, schools in NJ get out for a week in the beginning of November, which has been noted on Touring Plans "Crowd Levels." Comparing the levels to May is about the same (except the weekends at EP).

Who knows...we might change our minds (if budget allows) and hit up both parties, because how often does that happen? I can't imagine the first couple of MVMCP's will be that crowded.
Happy planning!:sohappy:

We were planning on going from Oct 29th through Nov.9th so we could see both but, unfortunately the accomodations weren't available. So we opted for the beginning of Oct. since we've never seen the Halloween decorations. We have been in Nov. and Dec. before so I am looking forward to seeing MNSSHP :sohappy:

MNSSHP is way better then the Christmas Party.. Plus Food and wine is going on at that time..Which is awesome, but u must go on a weekday since all the locals come out on the weekends and you will be waiting forever at each stand on a sat and sunday..
