If you book with the discount code do you still get the extras? Like the $15 planet hollyfood voucher, free round mini golf, Free photo pass picture, 30 minute arcade card, commerative liggage tag??

If you booked through a travel agent, and bought a package, do you still get all the extras... ie, luggage tag, Planet Hollywood?

There was a discussion thread on this not too long ago. It depends on the agent, how they booked you, who you were booked through etc. I can tell you it is my company's policy to give all of those items as they are provided to us. I cant speak for other agencies though. Your best bet is to call and ask the agent who booked you! Belle

I know we have an agent here and all, but I still don't really understand the point in booking through an agent. Just call Disney up directly and they will give you everything you need...and you get to listen to theme park music when you are on hold!

I haven't used a travel agent for my past 2 WDW trips. However, I'm a HUGE proponent of using TAs in general. A travel agent who is knowledgable and motivated can be a great help. A lackluster travel agent who is going through the motions can be a difficulty in your trip planning.

Thanks Cleve!!! It is true, a knowledgable and motivated agent can take a lot of the hassle and time spent planning away from you. Also you have a dedicated person that you deal with one on one to plan every aspect of your trip, not some person who just brought up your computer file. We can proactively suggest discounts or look for deals as they come out and change you as availability dictates. Disney will only do this on request. I Am not sure how many other agencies do this at all!!! We have a 1800 number, Disneyworld does not for standard boookings. Plus as KK is a fee paid agency, we dont charge our customers anything for our booking and itinerary planning services!!! Does it get any better than this?? Belle

The "point" is that Disney Travel does nothing for you proactively. If a discount comes available that could save you hundreds or thousands of dollars, they won't phone you and ask if you want it [or do it automagically if nothing of your original booking changes] where KK or other TA's who know their trade will.

If you are an expert at keeping up with all the various sources for discounts and deals offered by WDW and enjoy spending your own time and effort tracking them down, then by all means do your own bookings. But if you are prepared to relax and enjoy having someone else do the worrying and have the stress, then have KK take care of everything for you and enjoy your WDW to the fullest, knowing you were well taken care of by the best in the business.

I think that about sums it up pretty well.
I'll be the first to admit that I'm pretty obsessed with Disney. :) When a discount comes out, I hear about through here and/or on various other sites that I read on a semi-regular basis. I'm "expert" enough to plan all of the details of my own trips. (And I'd like to take this moment to thank the folks at KK for keeping us self-planners well-informed about all of the discounts that come out)

But I know that there are many, many people out there who *aren't* as well-versed in Disney World as I am. Planning a trip to WDW can be a very daunting task. And for those people, a travel agent can be a godsend.

So while I'm fine planning my own Disney vacations, I know that when I take my first trip to Europe or some other major trip like that, my first call will be to a travel agent, because that's the kind of trip that I'm *not* an expert on or comfortable planning myself.
