An honest outlook...I admire that.

I got no predictions--I'm just excited for the chance to see postseason crowds milling around in the Bronx, Chavez Ravine, on Yawkey Way, and in Hotlanta. A small bite in the air, Joe Buck's voice giving the intro and play-by-play with a little more breathlessness than the regular season, the familiar notes of Fox's postseason theme. It's a special time of year.

World Series
Red Sox vs. Cardinals - (I hate to say it...) Cardinals.
(I still have faith though! :sohappy: )

I would like the teams you predicted in the World Series come true. I would hope the Red Sox would win since they have a long drought of not winning the World Series. I would like to see some good since my Cubbies choked and are now watching the playoffs instead of being in them.

Well, the Sox aren't the team of last year.

The slogan is..."We're Coming...and We're Bringing Hell With Us"

In some ways they are better...but in other ways, they are not.

Pitching...believe it or not...even after picking up Schilling...I don't think the starting rotation is as good. (Schilling and Arroyo seem to be our best pitchers at the moment...I don't know what's up with Pedro (although, a part of me "knows" Pedro...and I kinda think he blew the last games to get his opponent's hopes up). Wakefield is iffy...but he's been ok his last two starts...and he usually bodes well against the Yankees (we just have to GET to the Yankees)...Lowe...let's just say I wouldn't be disappointed to see him in the bullpen.

For closers...they've been off and on also.

Timlin has been great.
Embree has been on the better side
Foulke...the end of the season gave the "Nation" hope in their closer.
Leskanic...in my eyes, incredible for what he's here for.
Williamson has been on the DL most of the season but is finally back and doing just fine.
Mendoza...eh
Myers...eh
Adams...ok
Martinez...eh

With Pokey Reese, Bill Mueller, Orlando Cabrera, and Doug Me-not even gonna attempt to spell it-vicz...we have three gold glovers in the infield. BUT...if that's the case...our team batting average drops significantly. (Pokey and Doug replace Kevin Millar and Mark Bellhorn).

Damon is having the best season of his career.
Manny and Ortiz is an unbelievable 1-2 punch.
Millar and Varitek have been fantastic since the All Star Break
Bill Mueller...he's holding his own.

The Yanks have always been a thorn in the side of the Sox and they always will be.

Having said that...we need to worry about the Halos before we can worry about the thorns. Between the Twins and the Angels...I'd rather face the Angels. (That dome in Minnesota has been a death trap for a lot of teams).

Wellllll.... we all know my thoughts on the situation ;-)

However I'm not being overly confident... the Cards are in a slump as of late... and they're missing their ace Carpenter...

I would love to see a Sox/Cards WS... the Sox are my AL team.

(I'm watching the Cards right now... it's 1-0 Cards... WOOT!)

I'm not taking anything away from ANY team that makes the playoffs...they are there for a reason...Usually it comes down to who makes the plays at the right times. The Yanks never have a problem doing that.

(It was good to see Pedro back after his last four rough outings)
