Rumor MK Space Mountain REVISED in 2026? (One track? side-by-side seating?)

The "iconic" two tracks system is meh. I think we use the word iconic too liberally nowadays.

The other two are not part of the rumor at the moment. And even if they did, I don't see how you could form the opinion of something being "ruined" without having even the slightest idea what the replacement would be.
Because Gensler Unimagineering can’t deliver anything on par with the queue of Space Mountain.

I’m sure it’s just your actual opnion, but idk I don’t like people saying “the old stuff is bad” after people are upset it could change. Revisionism and that.

Disney World is Abe Lincoln’s hatchet.
Not really. I think some old stuff is great and "masterpiece" level and classic and shouldn't be changed. I think some isn't. I think some is somwhere in the middle, which is where I would put Space.

I'm not saying "the old stuff is bad." That's a strawman. I think Splash was great and shouldn't have been changed. I don't love RoA being changed but I don't hate it either. I would hate if they changed Haunted Mansion. But we can have nuance here. Just because something is old doesn't mean it couldn't warrant change after a while. Just because it is old doesn't automatically make it good either.

I love Space Mountain. I've always found the queue bland and outdated. I do love the exit hallway and would prefer them keep that. And it is fine if people are upset about a change, but saying SM is being "ruined" before we even know what is really happening is silly, and that is what I was responding to.

> The loss of the iconic two tracks system
> The loss of the original facade
> The loss of the iconic Star Tunnel and retro optimistic future theme
I think the facade/exterior is safe.

WDW is a tourist spot, they're going to keep that iconic tower and everything until it caves in on itself. If any domestic park would have theirs completely redone in a freak event that'll likely never happen, it's DLR.

Curious what's going down for inevitable refurbs in 2026 if this and SSE aren't on the docket. Unless...

It is why I asked the size of TDL's new SM exterior. I wonder how MK's current one compares. But I agree I would be shocked if that changed.

I agree that the facade will be fine, but I honestly think at this point, the only true safe things are figment, mansion, and pirates with the merch they sell. It’s become obvious that at Walt Disney World, nothing is sacred. If they can get away with muppet *vision, they can get away with anything.

It’s the hope that kills you moth. Not now. I don’t think.

Although I could hypothetically you know what getting pushed up as an “we’re sorry” olive branch to the fandom for how mad they’ve made us. But that’s just me.

The more I think about this, the more I am warming up to the idea. As long as they maintain some legacy touches and don't change the exterior (except for a fresh new coat of WHITE paint), this could be really nicely done.
We all remember sh*t mountain.

Idk I think Poopoo Point could work with some silver touches. Depends what angle they wanna do for a hypothetical Tomorrowland 2030.

Wouldn't clash well with TRON though...

•I think a 3D film that's reached 30+ years was always on borrowed time, it's legacy and history included. Those three (and honestly at this point you can throw in the Bears, if they survived this Frontierland tear up they're surviving everything else), have rides they're carrying which brings me to....

-puts on tinfoil hat-

•IF SSE isn't going down in 2026 after Test Track goes up, and IF they know the fandom wants their heads mounted on walls for draining the river.... It'd make sense to redo the icon for a hypothetical EPCOT50 than the ride off to the right side of the park, yes?

But, I've been burned before, I need to learn to live again. I need more stars to start aligning.

agreed. I want to believe but I need to see more proof. I do think at this point we are getting figment 4.0 with dreamfinder, they’ve already gone so far into classic ride imagery. I do wonder if that also means inside out?

Country Bear Musical Jamboree was legit LeBron game 6 ECF 2012 levels of imagineering locking in. They clearly did their homework and I’m so glad the bears got a second chance at life.
Poopoo Point
Why is this so funny to me.
hypothetical Tomorrowland 2030.
I’d love for a Tomorrowland 94 inspired redo. Never gonna happen though
