MK Parade changes?

When I first saw the "Share a Dream Come True" parade almost a year ago, the floats intentionally stopped several times along the parade route as characters danced with children.

When I saw the same parade a few months ago (and from Frontierland, instead of Main St.) the parade did NOT stop.

Had Disney permanently eliminated the parade "stops"? Or are they implemented only when crowds are light?? Or do they simply avoid the stops only in Frontierland (the begginning of the parade route)???

They have two versions of the parade, one with show stops and one without show stops. They usually decide to have no show stops if the weather looks bad or if one of the floats isn't working properly. Another key decision is if the characters in the float aren't feeling well. The characters hit a button in the float and that decides if show stops will continue.

I didn't realize this until last weekend...I saw this parade LAST October AND in February and the floats did not stop...Although, last weekend when I saw it, the floats DID stop...and, for the first time...I saw Tink spread her pixie dust and the "carousel in the castle float" started to spin.

I also thought I read somewhere that the Princess float was supposed to include the three couples dancing, when I saw it over the summer, the only thing they were doing was waving. Sounds like the parade was a whole lot better before guests started complaining about not enough character-child interaction. More stops and stuff maybe... I dunno

When I was there two weeks ago,the Princess float was not running .There was rain that day.But the floats stop due to weather only.

if the weather gets bad enough, they will tell the dancers on the floor to stop routine and walk/wave... for safety.

as for ToD... this one has the same weather permitting factors, but it also has a leighway in that it can be still sent out with modifications, where as ToD, there's only 1 way to modify it and is too hard to do at last minute

I loved the Remember The Magic Parade. The Share a Dream Come True parade doesnt seem to be as personal for some reason. What i really liked about RTM was the personal interaction of the parade with the kids. That was so sweet to watch. Also I knew the very simple dance moves so I was able to bounce along with the rest of the group!! Belle

I saw it with the stops, and they are a lot of fun- all the characters dancing, etc. I wouldn't have guessed that they could run it without stops, but it makes sense.

Anyone know where along the parade route that the floats actually stop (on days that they do of course)? My son was picked to go out last time but tripped going off the curb and then was too scared to go out and dance with the characters. :o
