MK Halloween Party Question

I am an annual Passholder and recently bought tickets for the Mickey Halloween Party. I have a couple of questions for you more 'seasoned' Disney vets. First, if we go earlier than 7PM (with our AP), how does the Halloween deal work at 7PM? Do people have to leave and re-enter?

I already received my tickets and they aren't wristbands. They are plastic RFID cards that look identical to APs. Do I have to scan in with that card to have access to rides? If I don't, then how do they know that I actually bought the Halloween pass?

I saw it mentioned in another thread that the Halloween pass actually let's you in after 4PM. Is this accurate, or is it strict to 7PM? We are bringing a relative along for the night who does not have an AP.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You may enter MK as early as 4 pm with your MNSSHP tickets. If the other adult has a party ticket, he/she can enter MK as well as early as 4 pm. There will be CM's inviting event ticket holders to use "turnstiles" on the far right. After entering, you will then be given a wristband, which should remain on and visible throughout the party.

If you are already in the park, look for signs and CM's dressed in Halloweenish garb that will guide you to areas throughout the park which will be set up to hand out event wrist bands. Simply present your event tickets, which I assume will be scanned, then present your lovely wrist for a party bracelet!

Enjoy the festivities and gobs of candy!

Thank you. That very concisely cleared it up. Unfortunately Disney provided zero information in the letter that came with the passes.

I still don't understand how this "party" works. So, at 4pm if you have a party ticket you can come in...but what about people who did NOT buy a party ticket. What happens to them at 4pm?

If you bought a regular admission ticket, are you kicked out at 4pm? I don't get it.

The party "officially" begins at 7 pm. Guests who are still wandering MK after the official start time who are not sporting an event wristband are asked, and sometimes guided, to exit the park. This method doesn't always curb "free loaders" from sticking around...there are CM's on the lookout though. Also, you must present an event wristband to ride any rides or enjoy an attraction.

"But why are event guests allowed into MK 3 hours before the official start time?" I can only guess that Disney is actually being nice by saving guests from having to use up a day on their park pass, and allow them to get 1/2 a days' worth of fun?!

I believe at 4pm the party guest can start entering the park. At 7pm Non-party guests will leave. CMs check for the bracelets after 7pm to make sure you paid to be there. If you do not have on you, you have to leave.

If after 7pm they see that you do not have a wrist band, you are asked to leave. You will not be allowed on rides and attractions after that time and will be turned away. Last year we saw people try to access the train and were turned away. Some candy stations were checking wristbands first, then handing it out.

Disney's FastPass and FastPass+ are not available during the parties.

Hmm, any idea how long the waits get for the major attractions that are operating? Like SM, HM, BTMR, etc?

Would there be a big difference in crowd levels between a Thursday and a Friday usually?

Last year we attended a party & walked right on HM 3 different times!

It would be great if there was some way to know what's the largest number of tickets they've sold for a MNSSHP, or what's the max number of tickets they'd sell (unless it's the same as regular park capacity and they never get close to it).

This is my first year going to the party but I have been told by many people to skip the attractions during the party but make sure you go on Haunted Mansion. There will be a lot of activities that are unique to the event so you don't want to miss out.

There's a limit - parties sell out often.

If you go in at 4 and catch a few attractions then, you'll have time to do the party things later on. Don't miss the Headless Horseman!

Don't skip all the rides, hit the rides more towards the end of the night when the crowds ease up. the waits will definitely go down.

Do not miss the Halloween parade. IMHO it is the best parade @ WDW. The ride of the Headless Horseman is really cool, but he ride by fast just before the start of the parade. So be ready or you will miss him. Also the grave diggers in the parade are really cool with their shovels sparking off of the pavement. I love the parade!! Make sure you get a spot early for viewing the parade and best to wait for the second run of the parade.

There will be some dance parties if you are interested and also character meet and greets with the characters in their Halloween costumes.

Hallowishes is also very good and I think better than Wishes. Make sure you pick out your viewing location about 1/2 hour prior.

Trick or Treat trails can be fun. I can remember going in line late in the evening and the CM literally shoveling candy into our bags. We had to leave with 20 pounds of candy for the 3 of us. One of the best is the walkway between Circusland and Tomorrowland along the railroad tracks. This line typically has had the Queen of Hearts along with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum signing autographs and taking pics as a bonus.

One other thing is eat before you get to the party. I do not recommend setting up a table service meal in MK during the party or eating at a QS restaurant during the party. It seems like a waste of time because the evening always seems to go too fast already. We always set up a table service dinner @ a MK resort for 4:30 - 5:00 so we can be @ the MK by 6:00 - 6:30 for the party.

Make sure you get your MNSSHP merchandise early in the evening if you want anything. We have tried to get shirts late in the evening and they have sold out of certain sizes and it will be the next day before they replenish from the main warehouse. I was able to get them the next day after I showed them proof of my party tickets from the day before.

Check the times guide for the party early and outline your evening with what you would like to do. Make the rides something to do to fill in your time.

Enjoy the party.

My plan for the day is to go to Magic Kingdom during the day and get there at opening. We will leave like 3-4 to go back to hotel to change into costume. Head back to MK for dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern then enjoy the festivities!

Thanks for the tips! Sorry, yes I don't think you should skip all the rides. It would be better to dedicate another day at MK for the rides.

That's the plan.
Our plan is:
- DHS rope drop (lowest crowd rating that day).
- Back to POFQ for lunch and swim/nap
- MK at 4pm for MNSSHP

We have at least two other days at MK and one other day at DHS, so plenty of time.

Make sure you get your MNSSHP merchandise early in the evening if you want anything. We have tried to get shirts late in the evening and they have sold out of certain sizes and it will be the next day before they replenish from the main warehouse.

Good tip - thanks!
