What is EME?
Apparently EEMH and MEMH are used as well...

Evening Extra Magic Hour and Morning Extra Magic Hour.....

All are used interchangeably.... a quick search reveals:

EME = 6 pages of results
EMM = 10 pages
EEMH = 14 pages
MEMH = 2 pages

We skipped Evening Extra Hours this past December and didn't miss them. We did the DAK morning extra hours and it was a great experience. It probably didn't didn't encourage non resort guest to leave after the 8:00 closing time if no one was kicking them out. Plus, Disney wants them to hang out and spend $$$$ on retail and dining. But I can understand your frustration.

My title of this thread led to some misunderstanding....we had a blast and when we were "forced" to ride rides we realized that should have been the whole point of attending the EME!! I have no issue with Disney wanting those peeps to stay as they were REALLY spending money and the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor was going to be open for the EME anyway. It was good business and a great experience. I must say those were the shortest lines we have experience for an Extra Magic Evening in some time.....

Well said.....i was not very eloquent with my wording!

The main point was to be not many "non-resort" Park Guests will leave at an 8:00 Park closing if there are EME and the park stays open until 10:00.

I keep forgetting how negative this site has become!! This was not meant to be, and I didn't see this being a negative post....
It has gotten to the point that every new thread whether positive or negative is criticized. Many of the most critical haven't even been to WDW in years.

This is hands down the most factual statement that I've ever read on a thread here. ;)

All of these acronyms are throwing me off.. I need a handbook.

Glad you had a good time! Night time EMH at MK are the only ones that we've ever done, and always enjoyed them. I typically avoid EMH morning parks.

Extended Theme Park Hours = more commonly called Extra Magic Hours

EMH = Extra Magic Hours

Morning:
EMM = Extra Magic Morning (Hours)
MEMH = Morning Extra Magic Hours

Evening:
EME = Extra Magic Evening (Hours)
EEMH = Evening Extra Magic Hours

Upcharge

The Upcharge Evening Hours = Disney After Hours (DAH)
The Upcharge Morning Hours = Early Morning Magic [which has the same initials as Extra Magic Morning (Hours)]

The value of EMH, in my experience, seems to correlate to how "extreme" the hour is. Morning hours are better because people do not want to get up. Likewise the extremely late hours (say till 2 or 3 am) that hey have at busier times of the year are great. But when the parks close so early, a lot more people are willing to take advantage.

I was at a MK Evening EMH in mid-December the previous year from 12 midnight to 2 AM. Before 12, the park was packed, after 12, it was empty. We got to meet Elsa and Anna with a 5 minute wait.

On a related note.. There is only one Early Morning Magic event during all of April. This is very odd to me. I thought they were doing at least 2 per week. Haven't checked to see if there are more Morning Extra Magic Hours instead. Seems strange though. I thought EMM seemed to be doing very well.

I'm familiar with a lot of them, but even still there are those which throw me off occasionally. Some that can be especially difficult are the ones with identical acronyms. For example:

TDS = The Disney Store
TDS = Tokyo Disney Sea

So if someone posts: "It has always been a lifelong dream of mine to save up enough money, fly to Japan, and finally get to visit TDS in person.." how are we to know which of the two they speak of?

That's kind of obvious.
