I know what you mean... the older and more independant Lizzy gets the more terrified i get of things like this happening - I dont' worry as much when she's sitting in a stroller in front of me - but when she's 3+ and doesn't want in the stroller anymore? omg - scary...

How about when they get in your car & drive off on their own?
I'm petrified I'm going to get a call or visit from the police.

Did you ever in your wildest dreams (or should i say nightmares) imagine that intense sense of protection that would slam you like a brick the first time you looked into the trusting eyes of your baby? oh my.. never in all my life could i understand what my mom was saying all those years...

Thats what being a mom means...we hold the facing us to protect them and dad holds them out to face the world. Now I'm not saying dad wouldn't die protecting his little ones, but they seem to be able to let go easier.
