Bittersweet Mother's Day in this neck of the woods. Got an absolutely hysterical card from Em that she made at pre-school. It was a fill-in-the-blanks, and one line said "my mom is the best __________ in the world". She put "cleaner"!!!! My family was in stitches...I am such a bad housekeeper! But that's my kid, trying to build my self-esteem. I know God loves me a lot, because he gave me Em.

But on a sad note, Grant and I went to see MIL in the hospital. I don't think she's coming out...she just looks soooo bad and it's been three months in the hospital now. She's on a ventilator and her eyes just look so sad. Bottom line is, you can tell by just looking in her eyes that she wants out. She's tired of living this way and you can see it...she can't even talk because of the tube. Literally, up until today I was one of those "don't pull the plug" people but seeing her this way has made me seriously rethink things.

Whew...sorry, just had to get that out.

Such a sad time for you and Grant.
I had to be the "Pull the Plug" person on 3 occasions (one of them. . .my dad) and there is simply no harder decision to make. But I think that when a person reaches the end of their endurance, they let it show somehow. Letting them go is impossibly hard. . .but so is knowing that by keeping them here, you're prolonging suffering. There is such a huge difference between being alive and living. Letting go can be a very unselfish act.

OT: So my search for a bag FINALLY ended yesterday....AT WAL-MART!! :rolleyes: :lol:

I've searched all over and wouldn't you know I find exactly the right thing there...for only $7! :sohappy:
