How'd it go?
I'm reading through everything again, but I have a better feeling about what he will be doing next year. I liked our special needs teacher very much.
As far as evaluation results.... His behavioral assessment gave him a composite IQ score of 62, which is very low. However, his lack of independent verbal skills contribute to that. The psychological profiles we filled out as his parents placed him in the mid-range also. Ultimately, I have to look beyond the number to the attitude with which things were presented. That was very optimistic - not seeing him as limited, but still with potential. Everyone that has worked with him this year is in agreement as to his progress, and feels he will continue to do so.
So, my feelings are mixed. I am very proud of how he is doing, but he has a long road ahead of him. And I'm still trying to figure all this stuff out in my head.
* I'll be open to a roommate but I think I wanna get to know the person first.
