That is exactly right!!! Glad I'm not alone on that one.
I am sorry that is happening. Enjoy the day with friends then and smooth things over with mom later this week. Mom might just feel like she wants just her family there. I get that way also.

I know...and I do understand, because I sort of wanted it to be just us as well. But it didn't turn out that way (am I supposed to tell Grant his friends aren't welcome for a holiday picninc????) so why the fuss and drama? I wish she could be more flexible.
Enough complaining about Mommy...I would be truly lost without her but she doeas drive me crazy sometimes.
Company should be here soon, I'm hanging out here as long as I can.

I wish I would/could be more flexible at times. I am bad about wanting things my way. I once was very flexible until people started running over me and telling me how they thought I wanted things.
Moms can be that way quite a lot.

We've been in and out all day - but dave and DD are cooking dinner, so I'm happy!

It was good - DD and I even got some shopping time, and we found a shower gift for Dave's niece!
It has been good. Nice and pretty much quiet.
