AC unit? I never even thought about that. Hmmm...
OK this is work, so this ok right????

Mold like to grow where its stays cold and dark, you AC unit is the best place. Everybody is allergic to mold, some just more than others. When mold gets on a coil it makes is sticky, other living things can stick to it.. ie viruses. So we tell hospitals to put UV lights on the coils to kill anything that passes by, keeps the mold off and also kills anything with a DNA, like a virus! The problem at a Daycare is a kid brings a cold, then it re-cirulates through the AC system and just keeps spreading it long after the first kid has it. We have sold it local schools because they are trying to keep their attendance up.. attendance means funding! Plus there are energy savings involved when you are talking large systems. The point is, most building we walk into are sick, the worst smell like a dirty sock, they are clean but they stink and they spread viruses. We were having that same problem in our church nursery.

Wow.. so UV lights? Huh. Well that's definately one I'll be passing on to the daycare people. They're pretty open for suggestions - the only problem is that it's a very small center. The whole building is probably less than 2,500 sq ft. or so... (for babies - 12 y/o after care) The rooms are small, and the sick room is really quite pointless as no matter what your kid has... it get's worse after one day in the sick room. I think there's been alot of parent's just claiming "oh my kid's just teething, she's not really sick" So they let their snotty, feverish kids around the other toddlers... That's what really get's me.

EDIT: Snotty as in fluids, not attitude. They're actually a sweet bunch of little people. :)

This is the company we represent www.steril-aire.com

They are expensive, a home unit would cost about $4-500 installed. Worth it for a Daycare, especially if they are not getting paid the days kids are out sick. If they are, then really the opposite we be true and it would be better for them financially to keep the building sick. We did a study in a school system where they put these in 1 wing of the school and the there were significant drops in absintee rates, espcecially for teachers. I have one in my house, but... I get them for .......cheaper!

So do y'all sell them out of a warehouse in FL?

Got any dented units? :lookaroun

Joking aside... I will look into that. Whenever/ifever we decide to build, I'll keep that in mind for my house. How many sqft. would the home unit you quoted heat/cool? Or is it in addition to your regular HVAC unit?

There are "deals" that can be worked out for "friends";) ;) nod, nod!

These are just lights, they do nothing else, they go on and existing unit, mount right to, you have to drill holes in the unit. It is in addition to....

We don't stock anything, just represent the factories,
