Hey I know, you said you work at a photography place and you learned what an F-stop is, well.... what is it?
oh crap...

Well...the F-stop is the aperture...which is how big the hole is in the lens. (The hole is what allows light in...the smaller the f-stop...so if it were a F-4...the hole in the lens would be bigger and let in more light and if it were a larger f-stop...such as F-22, the hole in the lens would be smaller and let in less.)

ok, so last night we are taking pictures at the park and trying to get an action shot in lower light. So I would want a smaller F number and a high shutter speed right?

technically, if you wanted action...that sounds about right. Of course it'd be something I'd play with because I'm not too great at that aspect yet...so I would probably have done a test print...one that way and then another the opposite way...with the higher f-stop and lower shutter speed...just to see what it looked like too...but yes...what you said sounds right.

Its a digital so we could just look at it and then erase it. The other hard one is night pictures, like the one in my album. I want to let as much light in without using the flash but then the shutter slows down so all movement is blured. I want the look of the picture I took, without the blur, is that even possible?
I did it...folded it up (for Rick) and everything. It was soooo worth it. :o :slurp:

Rick, this TK Zone ROCKS! Except I keep catching myself doing mini-headbangs. :lookaroun

I just got in FINALLY, although never been much of a Trixter fan.
I don't have pizza but I am eating fruit.:o Sorry for the full mouth.

I was commenting on Steph's sudden exit and return. apparently we rate just under free pizza.... which is ok in my book!

See...that one's hard. Without a tripod, it's next to impossible, unless you have it sitting on something sturdy.

What I did at a wedding this weekend where I couldn't have a flash was a raised my ISO on my camera (The speed of the film...or what used to be film...don't know what it is any more) to 800 or higher...then I believe I set the F-Stop lower...so I set it to around 2 or 4...however low it could go...and took the photo that way. It let in the light...and it wasn't blury.

At least that's what I think I did...you can try it and find out...not 100% sure...but that's what I believe I did.
