That is not a good thing to be afraid of.

As you can see I am back now. My ILs bought the girls some St Patty's Days shirts and then my middle DD an outfit for her BD. :sohappy: More clothes for the girls :sohappy: :lookaroun

:sohappy: for new clothes! My sister has a girl who's almost 3 years older than mine, so sometimes we get clothes that she's outgrown. Abby's legs keep getting longer every year, so I always appreciate my sister's help.

Are there any other methods that any of her therapist have taught you that may work instead of knocking her out? I work with small chidren and have been taught several ways of calming down special needs children.
I agree, I work for a behavioral health organization and there are better ways then "knocking her out".

Maybe it's not my business but it when it's posted in a public forum it becomes open for discussions....

There is a new show on MTV called Juvies...it follows kids in Juvenille Detention Centers. I saw a little bit the other night and I'm watching it now. It is scary! I hope this will help some kids to make smarter decisions!

I'm sure Bonny would be willing to talk to both of you. MJ has a lot of special needs, not all things will work for all kids.

hmmmm....I don't think they like veggies....ice cream and sweets only:lookaroun

oh well, I guess I'll have to drive DH's car - I refuse to waste my sweets :lookaroun

Seriously, though, we think the car's computer has gone ballistic, so we'll call Monday and make an appt to get it reset. I hope it isn't too hard to correct.

It seems like the computer issues are tricky ones. Hopefully it will all work out.

I agree..if Bonny could use other ways of intervention that didn't involve meds - she would.

Does MJ have therapists who work with her? Is she in any special programs where they work with her? If not, they have some great ones out there. Both of those are very important in helping special needs children.

That's true as long a MJ is following the therapists advice and all avenues were tried....The therapists have meds that can be prescribed....

You can check on more about MJ on MJ'sspot.com. It might help explain more than what we could tell you. Sorry I am not much help on this. Welcome anyway to the thread. I haven't seen you in here before.

Although I might have over looked. Sorry if I did.

I can't speak for Bonny, but I can speak for myself, as I have an autistic son. I am sure there are many wonderful therapists out there, and I have no doubt they can do amazing things. However, the big obstacle is the financial cost of such treatment. Insurance won't pay for treatment as autism is vewed as a psychological disorder, and being in the middle income range, we make too much money to qualify for state assistance, and not enough to pay for it out-of-pocket. So for us, we rely on our public school system and additional speech and OT as the school can provide. For many parents, we just can't afford a team of therapists.
In MJ's case I would invite you to go to Bonny's website about her little girl, to learn more about their situation.
