She does! She watched them with headphones for over a year, but now she does them without most nights unless she had a really stressful day and her symptoms are worse...

Speaking of... Jenny, do you have any last minute questions about things with Joel?

No, no questions here...he's excited to see Mic - Key Mowse (his pronunciation). I'm talking to our doctor tomorrow about a letter to obtain a GAC. I know some people say we don't need one, but I err on the side of caution.

Be back in a few...have to take Abby to tap.

I am here finally. This morning was my DD's doc appt. at 9:45. We got there about 15 early and was seen about 15 minutes late.:hammer: The doc seems to think it is just a nervous habit that we need to deal with and she is going to make a relaxation tape for her. She gave my DD some things to do instead of pulling her hair, like putting a rubber band on her wrist and popping it on her wrist but not too hard. We go back next Monday to get the tape and to talk some more about things. Since her grades are good she doesn't seem to be too concerned right now. But that might change at any point of time.

Sounds good Susan.
Apparently DD just needs some help in managing stress.

Jenny, let me save you a trip. Not only is it not necessary, they aren't allowed to read it because of the HPPA laws. Even if they take it from you, I guarantee you they won't read it. Now, what *would* be helpful, especially if you or Joel is self-counscious (you do need him to be there to obtain his GAC) is for you to prepare a note that doesn't state his diagnosis but rather the things that would help you manage at the parks. For example: a quiet place to wait, the ability to use a stroller when you are in line, crowds or for parade and show viewing, etc......

BTW, MJ calls Mickey Mi-ee with the i sounding like the i in pin

Definitely! Learning to handle stress now will help her deal with it the rest of her life!

Okay, Susan.
I'm going to be going too!
Talk to you tomorrow!

Wow, thanks for the info, I didn't even think about HIPPA. So, if I hand them a personal note, I shouldn't state he's autistic? Just that he has special needs, and can get overwhelmed by too much noise and activity? BTW, since you mentioned a stroller, we were thinking of renting one because the parks are so large...Joel will be five in January and is very tall for his age (44"). Is he too big for a stroller? Thanks!
