Boy do I wish. . .but no.
I've never been there during the Christmas season.
I'd love to see the decorations and go to the party.
Have you been at this time of year before, Jenny?

We have never been to Disney. So, our first trip there will include all the decorations and Christmas fun. We are going to MVMCP on the 30th, with dinner @ LTT beforehand. Another fun thing is we are signed up for Storytime w/ a character in Exposition Hall just before dinner.

I'm so excited for you!
Every trip to the World is wonderful. . . but there is nothing like the first trip!
You have a lot of veterans at your disposal here. If there's anything you need to know, just ask!

How cool! Your first trip and Christmas all in one! I'm so jealous!

Have a wonderful time but be prepared, you'll get hooked like the rest of us!

Well, time to get back to reality. We're off to the nursing home in a few minutes, then back home for yard work. Hopefully it will warm up some this afternoon!

Hi everyone that is still here. I broke my tooth last night. Now I get to go to the dentist Monday. Oh Boy!!!

Just picked up my DD from her slumber party. She was still asleep. She had a great time. Which helps me. I needed to pick her up so she could get rested for our family picture that we are taking at 1:15 today. I was not planning on that for today. That just fell into play late last night. Then we might be going to see a movie maybe Santa Clause 3.:sohappy:

Good Morning, just tryin to catch up....it was an interesting weekend here for us. On Thursday MJ got to meet Jack Sparrow she was sooooo excited. We also got her a Pocahontas outfit at a great discount, she wore it all weekend :) We also got to meet Taryn from here, she is such a sweet girl! MJ adored her. (so did I)

No.
We got a little sidetracked.
I don't remember who was here with us, but we certainly were on a roll.
It was just one of those perfect nights!

I was there!

I'd take a voluntary demotion and start spending Christmas at home starting your own traditions and making your own memories!

Yeah, that is what we had to do with Andrew's parents. On Thanksgiving there are other relatives coming in that we DO want to see, so we will go for a couple hours just so they can meet MJ. We won't stay long, MJ can't touch anything in MIL's house...

That is a great idea...Now that I have Maggie..I want to do things for her..and if no one likes it..oh well....
Its all about her now to me....I want to start making memories and traditions of our own for her..

Us too, MJ all the way.

Hi everybody - been lurking for a while, but haven't posted. Was just reading Bunny's problems with her in-laws at Christmas. Some people...my in-laws are coming over here Dec. 9th (one week after our first trip ever to the World), but it just my FIL and step-MIL. My DH's older brother decided it was too far to drive to come over (about 3 1/2 hours), even though he and his wife have an RV and vacation all over the place with it. Last year the brilliant idea was to meet halfway at a RESTAURANT. Isn't that personal? So, our kids were stuck in the car for a couple of hours, then had to go into the restaurant and sit some more. Not a brilliant solution for an autistic kid (one of the ways my son 'stims' is running back and forth). Plus the whole time I don't think either one of them spoke to my DH ONCE. So, we said never again. Ultimately, you have to do what works for you and your spouse. You have created your own family with your own traditions..if extended family refuses to accept that, it is THEIR loss.

By the way, three weeks to Disney, and although the excitement is at a high, I am nervous. I want this to be good for both kids, but I worry so much about Joel. Disney looks overwhelming for a neuro-typical kid, so I really want to minimize chances of meltdowns. I have lots of suggestions from others already, but I welcome any more. (hint, hint)
I have Disney on the brain ALL THE TIME :hammer:- AAAAAHHH!!!

There..... fit over ....... feel better :o

HEy Jenny, welcome to MJ's thread. We are vetrans at doing Disney with autistic kids, anytime you have a question just ask. If you want to chat in real time we can use the chat room and MJ's Spot.

*breaks out the Dulce De Leche*

remember that pint I bought a month ago? I'm not even half way through it yet.

Yum, my favorite!

Fire away girls! Initiation time!

Ooooh, an intiation and I missed it, bummer...

gosh people who just lurk every once in a while here must just think we all are nuts!

Ya think?

Hey!
Someone sent me this poem and it made me think of all of you:

Dear Lord,
Every single evening as I'm lying here in bed
This tiny little prayer keeps running through my head.
God bless all my family wherever they may be.
Keep them warm and safe from harm for they're so close to me.
And God, there is one more thing I wish that you could do.
Hope you don't mind me asking . . Bless my computer too.
Now I know that it's not normal to bless a mother board,
But listen just a second while I explain to you My Lord.
You see, that little metal box holds more than odds & ends
Inside those small compartments rest so many of my friends.
I know so much about them by the kindness that they give
And this little scrap of metal takes me in to where they live.
By faith is how I know them much the same as you
We share in what life brings us and from that our friendship grew.
Please, take an extra minute from your duties up above
To bless those in my computer it's filled with so much love!

Awww, I love that Dot!

Chocolate mint crackle with candy cane - ice cream: Best ever, hands-down.

Sounds seriously yummy.

I had spaghetti for dinner last night.
And with my mozzy sticks at lunch today.

I do enjoy spaghetti, but I much prefer different pasta shapes. For whatever reason, I have a very difficult time with spaghetti.

I have to cut spaghetti up beforhand in order to eat it, I can't twirl it very well.

That doesn't happen very often to me, but it does occasionally happen.

We're all very weird individuals.

Again.... ya think?

I'm glad you liked it, Betty.
I thought is was very fitting.
I especially like the phrase "By faith is how I know them". That's how it works with us. We're friends by faith. We believe in our friends here. . .because something tells us we can.

From Santa Clause:

Seeing is not believing...Believing is seeing....

Wow.
You do need a vacation.
George and I are thinking of a possible spring trip to WDW. You should come.

OH OH OH.... jumps up and down excitedly

That reminds me.
Giraffe says "Hello" to you all.

Tell her Hi, we miss seeing her around these parts

I talked to Mad earlier... asked about Katie... here's what she said... :)

Soooo... anyway. Just wanted to share with y'all. Mad said she's been to busy to get over here much. So I thought I'd pass along the update.

Thanks, glad to see it!

No. :lookaroun

Hi Vince

Dot, I just read this and Dave and I were talking last night about doing an escape trip during his April vacation. We have some SW credits that we have to use up before July, and we don't want to go in the summer, so we thought we might go for a few days during his April vacation.

*cue the Twilight Zone music again*

Yay!!! Jumps up and down

 I smell an MJ meetup on the horizon! ;)

Me too!

Anyone going to be @ WDW when we are - November 25 - Dec 1st??

US!

We went Easter week once. Never again!!!!! My nephew was still in a stroller then, and you literally could not push a stroller through MK, it was that crowded.

We NEVER go near MK or Epcot on holidays....

It's us!

Sounds seriously yummy.

Seriously.
It does. :lookaroun

I'm not a good twirler either. Sometimes I just cut it up.
Whatever it takes. :lookaroun

From Santa Clause:

Seeing is not believing...Believing is seeing....

Oh I love that.
And I do believe. . .
In all of us.

OH OH OH.... jumps up and down excitedly

Joins you! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Now if we can only make it happen.

Tell her Hi, we miss seeing her around these parts

Ditto!
Hi Giraffe, wherever you are!
(Where did Connor see you?)

Yay!!! Jumps up and down

I don't remember why Bonny is jumping up an down here but . .

The second jumping was for Betty's trip....

And now a prayer request....

MJ has a fever of 103 and a cough, when I tried to give her cough syrup she threw it up, so I have no way to give her pain meds. Andrew asked for an ER at work and Taryn is coming over now to help me with MJ until he gets home...

I am really worried... :(
