I cringe also, but I am thinking, who in these people's lives are telling them that they can sing good enough to go on TV. I mean I sing in church and in the car but I KNOW I am not near as good as people that do it for a living. They just have so much better voice control. Then there are the people that are flat out tone deaf... Somebody needs to tell them before they get on national TV and embarass themselves..

Or maybe they DO tell them, but they won't listen. I only saw three or four of the bad ones, but it was more about them trying to have 'presence' than musical ability.
The good thing about us singing Rick, particularly in worship, is God doesn't mind if we sing imperfectly, as long as we mean what we sing! :animwink:

And on that joyful note, I must go get ready to pick up Joel... I will return this afternoon. Think we can have a new thread started before all our chatterboxes return? I say we GO FOR IT!!

Hi Steph! I died laughing when I saw your Joan Collins comment! I saw a little bit of the WORST tryouts last night on the news. That's why I don't watch AI - I feel so embarassed for those people, and I cringe when I hear them go off key....all those years of piano lessons kicking in I guess! :animwink:

I feel embarrassed for them too. :( And they seem to be focusing more on them this season, which I don't like. There was finally a really, really cute boy last night for Paula to drool over. He was only 16. :lookaroun He was really good and made it through...I think he'll go pretty far.

AH HA!!!!!!!!!!

You were watching and you let me go on????? How Could you!
Ehh, its alright, I was busy yesterday too, even busier today, in fact the only reason I am chatting is so that I don't go insane here.

Ugh, that's me too. This is my "happy place" :)

That's a good way to put it! When I read that I pictured the Star Fish on Nemo when Darla was tapping the Glass..... "find a happy place, find a happy place!" So what do you do? I mean besides chat!

Speaking of Nemo, that reminds me: I TiVo Ellen's show everyday (I know, go ahead say it...I'm a dork. :lookaroun ) But yesterday, it was so cute, she called Kate Winslet to congratulate her on her Oscar nom. Her little daughter answered the phone and when Ellen started talking to her she said "Is this Dory??"  It was so cute.
