That's amazing Dot. You're right about all the testing available now - if only they had it back then!

I think ya'll know how I feel about the testing in schools. My DDs schools want to test them for everything but they just want to put them in these programs so they can get the money from the gov. They are trying to test alot of kids in the distict.

Yes, if only.
Not that there is a cure. People with dyslexia generally find their own way around. Our neighbor also specializes in focusing problems. After the testing he did on George he told George that his mind works best while trying to focus on two things at once. He told him that when he is doing something that demands concentration he needs background sound . . .not television or anything else with voice. That would be a distraction instead of a help. He told him to have simple piano music playing in the background. One part of his mind will focus on the mellow music while the other focuses on the work at hand, thus making for a more harmonic work atmosphere. I found that fascinating!

The music helps one DD but gets on the nerves of the other one.:hammer:
They share a room so it is difficult sometimes. We make do.

I live 1/2 mile from Grande Lagoon, my parents live in North Grande Lagoon and my wifes parents live in South Grande Lagoon, they lost everything.
We worked on a house in Punta Gorda that year during our Christmas break. It was 4 months after Charley hit, and the devastation was just unreal. We never got back to do Katrina work - I'm not sure my nerves could have handled that!

DBF is in the doghouse.....

He scheduled a client visit in Dallas on February 15. I said "Interesting...so when exactly will you fly out?". He says "Well, the night before". Needless to say he hadn't put 2 and 2 together to realize that that was Valentines Day!

He's trying to fix it now...men :brick:

I wish, that'd be nice! I just don't have enough vacation days for the year. I'll be using a few for Disney and the rest I need to save for our trips home for the rest of the year. :( His appointments aren't until later so he's already fixed it to fly out that morning instead :D
