I saw the family on the news.
The oldest boy (how old is he anyway?) didn't look too happy.

My dad saw one of them on the news too...

"Hey, I know that kid!"
"You mean the kids that are having their house rebuilt?"
"Yeah, he's the one I yell at for playing football and running into my car!"

 Really doesn't sound like a deserving kid, IMO.

If there's younger ones in the household, at least they might be deserving, or at least the grandparents deserve it. But he, he's not the kind of kid I'd want to associate with...

You've been taking pic, Connor?

Yes, we spent about 3 hours in the area.
We're friends with the some of the neighbors very close, so they let us in their backyard. (Yay! Behind the scenes!) I have some "interesting" things I plan to put up in a thread about it soon.
(I actually have 100+ photos. Apparently I'm trigger-happy with the camera :lookaroun )

A little star-struck? ;)
It is pretty exciting.
I'm reserving my opinions of the orphans till I hear their story.
Maybe they need something like this to turn them around.

What's it like around there.

16 ppm.
(People walking by my house a minute)
:lookaroun
Out front, it's much crazier.

What do the neighbors think about the whole thing?

It depends when and who you talk to.

Dot said:
Is it very disruptive?

It isn't that bad.

What at are the workers like?

They have a few crew bosses on site, and it looks like 8 hr. shifts. Once their ________ is done, they're all shuttled out to (I'm assuming) whatever hotel they're staying at.

Dot said:
Are they respectful of the neighborhood?

Yes. They haven't caused any problems.

That was the only picture of Ty I had (other than one, which I'm not positive is him). No face shots. Or butt shots, as one of my mom's friends requested. :lookaroun All the other shots are of the construction work.

I've seen more people around here in the last three days than ever before.

I'm trying not to judge yet...

It doesn't sound too bad.
I guess ABC has this down to a tee.
The last thing they need is trouble.
The show is a huge success.
And, as I said before, they do some pretty remarkable things for people in need.

At one point, we got our own security guard!
To keep an eye on us. :lookaroun

nope, no cloves

I do need a makeover....unfortunately when you have a special kid and only so much $$... your own issues get ignored....my teeth are in such bad shape I am not sure they will be able to save them...

As for Ty, he was there today for a short time. I've heard he's also shooting another show up in New York, but I'm not sure of it.

I don't know if you know this, but on every episode Ty picks one room of the house to be his special project. No one supposedly sees it till he's done.
It'll be interesting to see if you get any indication that Ty actually works on anything like that.
