Welcome back @ChuckElias !! I see you are back on the board! Hope you had a great trip despite your nervousness!
Thanks, guys. It was a wonderful experience, despite being locked out of 3 of the venues that I really wanted to visit (Alcatraz, Volcano Nat'l Park, USS Arizona Memorial) due to the gov't shutdown. Almost everything else about the trip, however, was very positive. It was also interesting to talk with other passengers about their impressions of Princess (we met some very dedicated Princess customers) in comparison with other cruise lines. We met a few people who were on their first-ever cruise; but most of the passengers that I talked to were very experienced travelers. So we had some really good conversations about how cruise lines compare to each other. Our weather was nearly perfect, as well. What @Bolna said! Hope it was a blast!
My wife and I (at 47 years old) were WELL below the average passenger's age on the ship. I saw a total of about 25 children on the sailing. It was an older crowd, to be sure!
I have voluminous notes about the ship, the food, the islands, etc. Plus a thousand or so pictures. I'm not sure what I'll do with it all yet. I won't post a report here, since it's not DCL. But I may do one and post it somewhere else, and then share a link.
It was definitely interesting to see a different cruise line and compare it to what we know so well with Disney.
