Well, I guess Disney didn't drop the other planet from Mission: Space! In fact, they added one! It's already become apparent that the original concept has been slightly altered when you compare the construction pictures with the concept art. Who knows what other changes will be made before it opens? What do you guys think of the alterations so far?

Well, I'm glad more planets are being put outside, I just don't know if Earth should have been one... it doesn't fit in with the color scheme so well, plus you have SE close by and it is the biggest thing at EPCOT, but at MS earth seems to be one of the smallest things. Maybe they should have put Venus and Pluto (the planet) out there instead to get some blues and greens in a more solid color.

picky picky picky :) (just kiddin' spidey)

I kinda agree...Earth shouldn't have been put out there because WE ARE ON EARTH and like Spidey said, SPACESHIP EARTH IS RIGHT NEAR IT!!! But, whatever, it's looking awesome and I'm getting VERY VERY antsy!!! I WANNA RIDE IT!!!

Sponsorship name??? Compaq to HP?

I think that would be smart. HP is a much bigger and slightly more recognized name, plus.... as you imply, Compaq is owned by HP now, so why not go with the parent company.

Yes, I was wondering if all planets will be on the outside now, that would be interesting. Hope they pass on a working sun though.

My guess would be that they aren't selecting what planets to put outside based on what would look the best, but rather which planets tie into the story/plot of the attraction.

And a big question would be what is the story line? Does anyone have any insider information into this?

Something goes wrong

That's the story of Alien Encounter, Dinosaur, Tower of Terror, Star Tours, "Honey, I shrunk the Audience", even Jurassic Park River Adventure, Jaws, and Kongfrontation. If you had at least said "Something goes wrong in Space!" we could narrow it done to Alien Enounter's story.

Let's try to be more Vague in the future...:animwink:

So, you mean they are taking one of the more boring original attractions and making it one of the best attractions ever, way cool! Mission to Mars: the Next Generation! Horizons was like a CoP 2, so this is great. Can't wait for the next incarnation of Swiss Family Treehouse -- The Flamming Tree of Inferno!!!

Wow, I was so wrapped up I didn't even realize I just got promoted to full cast member.

I'venever posted here before and I could be wrong but take a look at the latest ride photos on the website. I see the earth and I see another smaller planet that looks like mars to me. The big red ball doesn't have the detail of the other planets. I am thinking that this may actually be representing the sun. If you go by some disney storytelling in the que lines form other attractions it "could" mean you are on a trip to mars and something goes wrong having to do with the sun. Maybe heading for it. I am not an imagineer but this seems more logical to me than the red ball representing mars.
