4 April 2002: Ride System spotted

There are suggestions that part of the ride system was delivered to the Central Shops behind the Magic Kingdom a few days ago. Eye witnesses report seeing a large flat bed truck, with what looked like parts that match the "Space Simulator Pod" concept. The truck was being escorted by Disney security. (Thanks to Jason for the information)

Sounds like it to me. The security issue is the dead giveaway..they dont want ANYONE getting a sneak peak at this thing...

Are these the cars for the centerfuge? I hope we can see a picture or two, although I don't think Disney will let anyone close enough or long enough to get a picture. :(

can you imagine if photos leaked. JUST AN FYI to anyone(s) who might snag shots DO NOT POST THEM PUBLICALLY, atleast I wouldnt. Keep it private. I think Disney would bring the smack down if they showed up here

wow thats harsh

well, it IS their intellectual property, which I have a feeling that a competitor would be dying to have. Why do I feel that if pics were to leak onto this site, that U-place up the road would be having a similar attraction within months...

just a thought

Behind the Magic Kingdom is

Central Shops......"The can do people"

Disney Transport......."We keep the magic moving"

Holiday Services........."Everything you need for the holiday's"???

I saw the central shops, they have Buzz Lightyears cars, Splash Mountain ride logs, hippos, horses from the Carousel and Audio Animatronics.

Did I miss any areas?????

other than what you listed?

the only other thing I can remember is Disney Fleet Services, which is an outdoor garage w/ extra company cars. That's about all I remember. The only times I go there is when I want a new nametag, and when they drove the Share a Dream floats to MK (I wanted to see them)

I'm not sure that Disney can legally do anything. It is their property, but unless you do not tresspass, you do have the right. I remember here in Charlotte a few years ago, one of our news reporters went on assignment to a crime scene and took pictures. All the police could to is to ask if they couldn't use the pictures. I know the law differs, but it can't differ too much.

Here's what the factors in determining punishment are:

The amount of loss to victims
Whether a weapon was used in the crime
The age or vulnerability of the victims of the crime

I agree with you that they couldn't do anything if you weren't trespassing. If you snapped a picture while the truck was on the highway, then I don't see why it would be illegal to post (however I still wouldn't do it) but if you snapped a picture near the central shop then that would be illegal seeing that the public is really not allowed back there. There are very visable signs that say "Authorized personel only" on the road that extends behind the MK. Either way, I wouldn't post pictures cause you don't want competitors to see the ride. Can't wait to ride Mission Space next year!

Disney is bigger then any police force. Remember how strict they are in the Magic of Disney Animation at the Studios? I saw a women with a camera take a pic. once, and Disney CMs unloaded the film and destroyed it. As for the parks, you are on private property. But if you took pics from the highway, I don't see what Disney could do, but they would find a way!
