and you forgot that they're shooting commercials for M:S...hmm...I wonder if Mission:Ladder made it into the first batch or if they'll hold off on marketing it until after the official grand opening

Incredible news. It looks like, indeed, this ride will be welcoming its first guests by July 4th. I am so excited...thank you, Disney, for pulling through! 100 days till I ride Mission: SPACE!!!!! August 1st, baby! (I would imagine it will be up to full capacity by then)

As posted just above the capsule picture, Disney has officially announced the opening date for MIssion:Space as:

Here's hoping they get it open early for ya! I'll be down on August 23rd, so this is GREAT news for me.

Assuming WDW keeps the 8/15/03 opening date (fingers crossed), how do they work their grand openings? Is there a big celebration on the 15th, or is the big opening reserved for invitation only?
