2 September 2002: Post Show Details!

The following is a description of the attraction post show.

"The "game" is called Space Race. There are 2 teams with 12 computer type labs for each team. Each lab can hold up to 3 people, meaning that this "race" can hold up to at least 50 people or more, depending on your party size. The two teams are called Triton and Orion. Each team is divided into two different sections. Astronauts and Mission Control. Since it is a race, the point of the game is to win. Each team is represented by a spaceship. The race starts off on Mars, then ends at the International Space Station. During the middle of the race something goes wrong and the ships break down. Here comes Mission Controls role. Mission Control must use there labs and try to repair the ship. It is divided into 4 different colors. Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green. Once Control gives the necessary colors to the Astronauts, they place it on the spaceship where it is necessary. Once you reach 100%, you get a boost. These boosts make your spaceship go faster. The point is to get as many boosts as possible to make it to the International Space Station first

There is also an interactive play area for kids (and adults can enjoy it too). It also has Postcards that you can send from space"

Sounds interesting. Still not sure how it's gonna work, but I assume it will be easy enough for all guests to understand and enjoy.

I was just gonna say it totally lost me around the Mission Control part... :hammer: :dazzle: :lookaroun

I am a bit confused. I am guessing that the post show will not be part of the actual ride, but instead something you can do after the ride? Thus POST-show? Is that right, or are you talking about the actual ride here?

From my understanding, the pre-show was the thing at Inoventions, and the post-show is the pavillion itself (the ride, giftshop, etc). I could be wrong though.

Pre-show: Something that sets up the story that you are about to experience (for example, "putting together your test schedule" at Test Track).

Show: The ride itself.

Post-show: Some sort of show/area/activity that follows the ride. (The factory/Dreamchasers/showroom at Test Track).

Yeah, but I don't think thats what there talking about now. The Pre-show was where the countdown clock was/is. Mission: Space has always been known to be two parts... A Preshow (to build up anticipation to the ride before it opens) and a Post-show (The ride itself). The thing where you watch movies before the rides is actualy called a briefing. But the line, scnery/theming, briefing all make up the pre-show, but in Mission: Space's case, I don't think it is. If you look at the beggining of the news of Mission: Space on this site, it talks more in detail about the 'Pre' and 'Post-shows'. animwink:

The PRE-show is BEFORE the "SHOW"
The POST-show is AFTER the "SHOW"
the "SHOW" is the actual ATTRACTION!

the PRE-show is the "briefing/story buildup"
The show is the ride (like someone said)
the POST-show is the rest of the pavilion AFTER you exit the ride.

most likely you will be able to get to the POSTshow without riding. (so that people who do not want to experience the thrill of the ride, will still have something to do in the pavilion)

Yeah, I know what you're talking about, but if you read the paper talking about Mission: Space is says that there are two phases. 1. the pre-show~ which would be the MS exhibit at Innoventions, and the 2.
Post show was to be the pavillion.

I know that the preshow is the "briefing/story build up" thats EXACTLY what I said in my post before. But if you do the research on it, it says what I have said. It would make sence to me that the "details" were talking about the ride too. It says something on the lines of: 12 things that hold up to 3 people. Who knows?
Come on Steve, can you help me out? Am I right on this pre and post show thing? Lol. Anyway..... new subgect... how do they "simulate" weightlessness? With positive g's? On the TC Secrets thing, they said, "Simulate a pules pounding take off, and expierence real weighlessness...something that hasn't been done at any theme park before." So I wonder how good it will be.

OK here goes..

1. The preshow is part of the attraction and is the start of the story.
2. Then you have the main ride.
3. Then you have the post show.

All of these things are in the main building.

As an example think of Tower of Terror. The preshow would be the library, the ride is the ride LOL, and the post show is the exit and gift shop.

Innoventions was just a teaser, and isnt part of the attraction in any major way.

Hope that helps!
:)
